Telkom Speed upgrades

My DHCP suddenly decided to die so I had to find another way to login to the router ....... discovered my line speed is now 8mb when area checker says 4mb is max for my area :wtf:
 
SNR Up: 13
SNR Down: 7

Att up: 23
Att down: 45

Stats looking way worse than a month ago when I checked.

Edit: stats keep jumping around quite a lot. Checked now and stats are now.

Is there not a storm in your area? My line stats are awful during storms...

Yes but I've been having problems for the last week already. Not sure if they have been busy with upgrades in my area since then.

Any noise on your telephone line? You should probably log a fault anyway.
 
I am on 2Mbs line at the moment. Situated in Bloem. Last time the areas were a concern, now it seems not, but rather the speed. Do you guys think its possible to phone telkom or should I wait till the 18th before I can get my double line speed?

my phone line actually has no dail tone. but the adsl is working 100%. been meaning to contact telkomZA.

My one did that and apparently the port was faulty so changed me to another one then the next week both went down and had to do the same thing again so hoping it stays fine :p.

Hope yours is fixed straight away.

Sometime the line noise isn't at audible frequencies (in the ADSL range) so it could still be noise :)

I nearly laughed, but then I realised Apoc might not be as tech savvy to understand electronic noise :)

Done.

I did however have to install a styrafoam cup telephone line for you.
Compulsory line as you know.
