Could you please explain to a complete neophyte what "synching" - and not being able to "synch" at the appropriate speed, would do to the end-user experience of the ADSL service?
Sincere question this... I've noticed in my ADSL router setup that the down-speed has increased from 40**kbps to 60**kbps... So, presumably, they have upped the speed in my area/exchange [I was on a 4mb package].
Since that change - I occasionally top out with much higher speeds - 5,2mbps compared to the rock-steady 3,45mbps over the past year - but ping is through the roof - from a rock-steady 16/17.18ms to 550/650/750ms....
Youtube sometimes flies - everything else crawls...
The reason I ask, is that when I initially upgraded to my 4mbps package - I also had massive speedspikes, with terrible consistency/stability...
I was told then that someone at TI had me set to 10mbps, but that my line couldn't synch(??) at that speed - or something to that effect... I'm now wondering whether the same hasn't happened now...
Things is - I have no clue what to ask to who - even if to merely get someone to check it... Could someone [oh-mighty-MyBB-ADSL-gurus] PLEASE explain the above, in PLAIN English??
