Telkom Speed upgrades

I don't plan to upgrade my Openweb account to 4Mbps Gold until next year so whether my line gets upgraded to 4Mbps or not this week is now meaningless since it makes a small difference in terms of speed.
 
Not sure if this has been answered before but does one have to reboot the router for the changes to reflect?

Got one of my friends upgraded from 2meg to 4meg as well today.

Just need to call and ask.

Nope, it happens automatically. .. or u can try calling telkom and ask them to upgrade your account if your lines been upgraded already.
 
Mine still shows 2048 downstream line rate, so I'm assuming it hasn't happened...
 
I politely asked for my line to be upgraded to 4mb and the guy was more than happy to do it. Very good service
 
just checked when i got home Ive been upgraded :)

Data Rate: 4096 512 kbps
Max Rate: 12320 1000 kbps

Adsl check shows my account as 4mb but still 2mb on the router & the modem has been reset a few times today.:(
 
My area is currently under consideration for the MSAN roll out, they started digging holes and put in manholes, but I hear that the area will only be upgraded next year. :(

call telkom ask them to see if you have been upgraded if they yes then ask them to move you to new profile

Sorry for sounding idiotic now, but what happens if you on MWEB 1MB data, etc? I checked that ADSL checker and it said MAX Speed on exchange is like 1MB...... Does that mean I won't get upgraded? Or how does this whole thing work?
