Have you been upgraded on the checkdsl site?
I am running 2 ADSL lines, both syncing at 6Mb. One line has SNR of 12db and the other is on 6.5Db :/ and Telkom is being no help and trying to blame the distance of 2Km
Line with 12Db is running perfect, Other not so much, just dropped it from 10 down to 8 and now 6.
Nope
That site is unreliable. Friend of mine has had 10mbps for over a month, it still says his speed is 4mbps with a maximum exchange speed of 1mbps.Have you been upgraded on the checkdsl site?

Pooky ... I'm also in Gillitts and still on 4 Mbps ... no upgrade to 10 Mbps.
Nice!Anyway, my speedtest is now at 3.45Mbps, is this normal?
They must have forgot about me or something.
I phoned and spoke to a cool guy who upgraded me.
He asked what router I had and I said Mega105, he then told me that it is ancient and wont be able to handle 4mb as the new routers have built in filters. This is strange to me.

Call Telkom first ask for profile upgrade then check on router to ensure you have been upgraded then contact ISP to move to 4mb data plan
I phoned Telkom after reading this and they told me that they have no idea what a profile upgrade means. They kept transferring me to different departments in an endless loop. Each time I ask them about the profile upgrade, thy say either say they don't know what it is or they just tell me some bollocks about its a best effort service and then transfer me again.
Phone 10210, choose option 1 (technical support/report a fault) and then option 2 (DSL support).
Tell them that you're supposed to connect at 4MB (or whatever you're supposed to be on after the upgrade) but your router only connects at 2MB, and can they please do a profile reset (or ensure that you are on a 4MB profile).
I was helped by a very friendly lady named Vineshni (sp?) from this dept. not 3 hours ago, and I said exactly the above-mentioned to her. She confirmed that my router is syncing at 4MB and then did a port reset for me. I now need to reset my router and confirm the connection speed.
If I still don't connect at 4MB I need to have a technician attend to the problem.
Looks goodthe Mega105 is really old
