Telkom Speed upgrades

I have been going the "DSL fault" route with option 1 then option 2, but no success. First 10 calls it just said "limited service outside office hours" and then the call will just end. Eventually got to Telkom guy who shot me down telling me that my line hasn't been upgraded yet and I have to wait till January. After that I eventually got through a second time and the lady actually did a reset for me!!!! Too bad I'm still syncing on 1Mbps though... :confused:

Anyway, I dropped TelkomZA a PM and hopefully when I get back from work tomorrow I'll be on 2Mbps... :D

Or maybe Telkom guy was right and ADSL checker is wrong and I havn't been upgraded...:wtf:

That's because a reset does nothing. They have to change your profile.
 
A question. If i am on a 4 Meg Account and my line is upgraded to 10 meg. Will i be able to see that it is unpgraded or does my ISP account im on have to be a 10 meg account first???

Any good answers welcome

Your router should sync at 10mbps (as shown in the downstream rate).
 
Yep i got the same problem as a previous post says i got 10 meg but our area only allows for 4 meg so quess ill have to wait or live with it.

My line speeds have been bumped from 4mb to 6mb, but I suspect the 6mb is way to unstable.... I'd rather pay less for the 4mb than more for an unstable 6mb connection.
 
it looks like the whole country is getting upgraded now.... i called last night due to a fault on my line and was told if i wanted to upgrade my line. he said that over the next couple days the rest of the country will be upped. so if you havent been bumped up, call in and they should be fine to go ahead, if they dont do it, hang up and call again

I initially sent TelkomZA a PM on Sat evening, called the call centre Sunday midday & had my profile upgraded. TelkomZA checked yesterday, saw that I've been upgraded but also saw that my attenuation is terrible so logged a fault for me.

Tech came to my house this morning to get the line back up. BUT, it's now only syncing at 1Mbps (down from 6Mbps)...
 
I'm with OW and quite happy with them. My line's bumped up to 4M but still using 2M gold account with OW. I'm getting 3.5~3.7M speedtests during the day on a 2M account :) you should pm MrBEEP and ask to give you a free test account to play around with!

Im also with OW but I had to upgrade data to 4mb in order to get those speeds some how my data was locked at 2mb
Was also on a gold account at the time.

What are you paying pm on your gold account ?

Probably put you on a wrong card happened to me before causing me to only get 512kb instead of my usual 4 megs so had to call them back again to put me on the correct card version.
