Telkom Speed Upgrades

Does anybody know if this also has to do with the upgrade?They installed my line last week Friday but only activated it Monday.
And if I have the 4mb will I also get upgraded to 8mb when they eventually do the upgrade and will I pay extra?

Last night I and this morning I had no connection.

Those line stats do not look good. 6.4 SNR and 50 attenuation. You're lucky it syncs at all. Not looking good for 4 Mb, let alone 8.

Technician was yapping something about a cable joiner to assist him at exchange cause on Friday they got a lot of noise on my linebecause of "earth" wires running close by.Came and finished installation Saturday morning and still didn't have a cable joiner with him.

Monday comes and the technician activates my line and still hasn't had a cable joiner with him at exchange.
So I'm starting to think this might be the issue for my poor speeds.

Well they don't know me.I will rip everything out and go to their offices and strangle them with their own equipment. :mad:

Now the technician is saying that once a line fault has been logged they cut off your connection.
Really?

No. They do intermittently cut it off and on when testing and phone you back afterwards.

I have been having issues will low SNR and the last techie said SNR's dont matter on ISAM's only on the older exchanges :whistling:
Any truth to that ?

i have a 10Meg line they been try to fix for 3 months now. eventually last week they got it to 10meg then 1 day later back to 7. Been there ever since

They are just not willing to change the V spares even though the previous techies said its the damn cable that need replacing.
Anyways Afrihost ( my line is with them ) just keeps reopening the case once openserve closes it.

Considering upgrades are going to be done from midnight tomorrow.
I'm on a 4mb line, can anyone tell me the chances of getting a 10mb line from stats ?
Noise Margin: 50.8dB
Line attenuation: 11.5dB
Is this good or bad ? Please help, thanks.

You live in the exchange, right? :D Those stats are exceptional. You'll get any speed you want on ADSL / VDSL.

That's the highest noise dB I've ever seen.

Hope I get the upgrade. They migrated me to home unlimited already and I had the promo in April. The telkom agent said I should get the upgrade. So hoping!
