Telkom uncapped ADSL prices reduced

Mweb would have to half the price of their current 4meg and 10meg uncapped accounts to be inline with Telkom....

If the services proves to be good, I will move both my Business Account & Home Account to Telkom, That is R2500 a month Mweb will loose from me alone, not to mention all the countless others who will leave...

Hope Mweb betters Telkom's prices...

We are now waiting for the other providers to assure us that they believe that their prices are still competitive and that despite price their service is still superior..

I have 6 months left on my internet promo 5. I think I timed my contract perfectly. It seems that ADSL may finally be coming into line with the price of mobile broadband. Let's hope prices keep plummeting.

The Telkom 4Mps ADSL is actually a 0.65Mbs with an "Night-owl" option.
That's falling away 1Feb.

You need to keep up dude.
Must have missed the press release - it's not directly mentioned anywhere.
Where did you see that?

If they are removing the 650Kbps max speed, then it starts to be interesting.
Anyway, I could only get 0.2Mbps/4Mbps due to Rosettenville exchange being out of capacity

Whats the difference between the uncapped basic and the business uncapped basic accounts? If the business uncapped is unshaped then for R359 thats a great price.. I'd rather have 1mb unshaped than 2mb shaped..

You have to jump through more hoops for a Business account...

Sjoe Sjoe Sjoe... Telkom jy het my geskok. Die 10Mbps prys lyk ook baie goed. Ek neem aan die bundle prys sluit die ADSL lyn huur in, maar jou telefoon lyn huur uit? Of het ek dit verkeerd?

Think this is what he referred to.

"He pointed to the removal of day-time restrictions on consumer products as a prime example of enhanced customer value."

There was a mybb article earlier in the month where Telkom said they would be removing the throttling and changing to shaped uncapped from the 1st of Feb.

Here we go.

Telkom has also announced that it will remove the current daytime speed limitations on its Do Uncapped Offers. These packages will remain shaped.

I'm concerned with the quality of the service, but the prices really are good. I might trial it for a month or so if they don't have long term contracts. It is most definitely a step in the right direction though. Most definitely. If the quality is good then the 4mbps is just about what I budgeted for 2014.
