Am I missing something here with the OP 'adventure' with Telkom?

3gb ran out -> 1gb telkom top-up?

What's there to cancel?

I am thinking the same thing. When I top up, I do it online and once it is finished, it's finished and I can't access international sites. Can someone please shed some light on this? I do not like being in the dark. :)

We have a cap of 3gb, i had to download several big files this month so my cap got finished faster than usual. Normally 3gb is more than enough for me. Thats why I cancelled it because if you don't it carries throught to the next month
 
I live in Maritzburg - we are the last of the last of the last to get anything. It's so depressing!! There is no iBurst or Neotel in my area yet.. I eventually gave up and asked Telkom to install a line so I could go the ADSL route (not with them but through another provider) then the helpful people at their call center told me that sorry.. there are no available ADSL ports in my area!! When I asked how long it would take to get one put in the extremely helpful lady told me that I would have to wait a very long time and even then I may not be the first person on their list. WTF!! I got pretty angry at that stage and started blaming them for everything wrong with humanity and told them that they are losing out on so much business by people going the 3G and WEireless route (the ones that have it available) route.. she didn't sound too bothered at all.. I said that they probably don't give a rats bum 'cos they think they hold the Monopoly in SA - and she said YES!!!! So that is the problem with them people - THEY DON'T CARE! That's why the service etc is so bad.. they just figure that they can treat their customers however they want and we will just be forced to use them regardless.. I have now had to go the 3G route through G Connect as it's the only other option. 1 week later I am still awaiting my sim that I purchased from them to be RICA registered... Why oh why is the customer service in this country so bad!!!
 
The OP's answer still makes no sense, unless he ordered a new extra 1gb account to use only for the month, which would continue untill canceled, obviously, but that would be a silly way, as the top-up exists for that reason, and it doesn't carry over, and no cancelling. It's just like putting more petrol in the car, no need to buy another car...hehe.
 
buying online adds extra gig to ur username this is a once off only and there is no need to cancel
buying thru an agent over the telephone the agent creates a new username thats valid until u cancel :sick:

yes it makes no sense to but its Telkom any how if u guys buy from them keep this in mind :p

Telkom is still way better than iBurst or Neotel or Vodacom which tells you more about how rubbish the wireless providers are than about how rubbish Telkom is...
 
I was also told that Neotel and iBurst were useless by Joburg people that had tried them out and everyone told me to just stick to Telkom.. But then someone else had used Neotel in Cape Town and said that it was great.. SIGH!! So I just decided to go the Telkom route. I live in Wembley - so it's not exactly like I am out in the sticks or anything. Someone suggested that I go into the Telkom at the Midlands Mall as they know more about the area and the call center for Telkom is down in CT so they won't know too much about KZN.. Feel like I am being led on a wild goose chase...
