Upgraded my line speed on Friday. Call centre agent advised it would take 24hours. It has not been done as yet.
Quick search on MyBB say's it is immediate and just a matter of rebooting the router while others have waited 1-2 weeks. These threads where old though.

Anyone done a speed upgrade recently?
How long does it take?

I would have thought it was as easy as clickety click and bobs our uncle!

Apon futher searching, it seems that it does take longer than 24 hrs.

Is there any problems with Telkom emails? Can't access via Webmail which gives 502 Bad gateway and also via POP getting incorrect password.
 
TelkomZA, when will government sell its share in Telkom so we can be set free?
 
Greetings, here is the extract from the ADSL modem log, I called telkom a few times, but they say that the line is fine and I need to contact my ISP (VOX), but vox says that this is Telkom's fault. Any Comments?

I upgraded last week Monday, and then again last week Thursday, then again this week Monday. Still nothing. Call centre agent confirmed that my line is now 4mb/s, yet when I chat to technical, my line still synching at 2mb/s and they refer me back to sales. Can't win. So now I just give up, or have to sit on the phone listening to same melody for hours... Gets tiring.

Can't understand how or why a company doesn't give a hoot with taking customer care serious. Oh hang on, damn monopoly - is a biaaaatch.
 
I don't know what is going on over at Telkom, but international download speeds have slowed down to a crawl. I'm talking dial-up level of slow. As in 10 to 30 KB/s. Doing some digging on the web I see I am not the only one suffering from these poor international download speeds. To make matters worse if you contact Telkom about the issue they say that there is nothing wrong. Well, if you guys are as tired of Telkom's BS as I am then go and download Free Download Manager. It is a wonderful little program that will ensure your international download speeds are not stuck at the Telkom default of 30KB/s. With Free Download Manager you will get international speeds close to what your actual line speed is. When installing Free Download Manager also be sure to install the add-on for your particular web browser when it prompts you to do so. You can find Free Download Manager here:

So whatever Telscum has done recently has completely destroyed international download speeds. If you want to get the actual line speed you are paying for then get Free Download Manager.

Just wanted to thank TelkomZA (Nawaaz) for his kind assistance sorting out my line sync problem. Line is back to normal now!

Anyone used the chat on the Telkom website? 5 minutes into the chat the session gets disconnected - displays waiting for chat.h8ta.com... nothing after that. Happened twice this morning. Anyone else get this?

I cant even connect to the chat. I reported a fault last Tuesday, still hasnt been allocated to a tech.
 
My ADSL has been dead for days and I've reported it on Twitter and via SMS. Got an SMS to say the line was tested and is free of defects but my ADSL is still dead, not even syncing. Please help urgently.
