TelkomZA

The end of another day without service 11CRK010316 - End of Day 29 and my service is still not restored. Telkom PLEASE WAKE UP !!!!!

Can someone please tell me how I can sign up for Telkom ADSL if I don't have time to call their call centre during the day having to hold for 15 - 20 minuts and apparently they close at 17:45 in the afternoon.
Earlier I called and was holding for around 15 minuts already, then suddenly got a message that they close at 17:45.

Best bet is to visit a Telkom store.

Unfortunately you weren't even halfway through the 'normal' hold time it takes them to answer.

I cancelled my Telkom ADSL Package and Line when I moved out of my apartment. I went in person to the Claremont branch on the 14th of September for the cancellation.

December rolls around and I begin to receive collection calls from Telkom for an outstanding balance. Confused, I verify my account was paid in full online and found no outstanding amounts. I informed the collections agent that the accounts were cancelled in September and my online portal was reflecting as such. The lady on the phone asked to email them the information I had provided to [email protected] to put an end to the claim. I sent the email out that day (15/12/15) and the calls stopped.

When I moved into my new apartment I applied for a new line and after waiting months for the line to be installed I finally receive notification that Telkom cannot install the line because I still owe R3175 on my account. *Unbelievable*. Frustrated, I go in person to the Telkom branch in Sea Point on 03/07/16. I am assisted by a very helpful agent who informed me that when my account was cancelled, Telkom only cancelled the line and not the data package which has been quietly racking up bills in the background ever since. The agent shook his head and told me he would put in a request to reverse the charges and everything would all be resolved within 72 hours with no credit implications.

This morning I log into MyTransUnion to check my credit score and lo and behold, my credit has been knocked in half as a result of Telkom reporting the outstanding amount. I am going back in today and not leaving until this is resolved in full. Telkom is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. The lack of communication within the company is ghastly and it blows my mind that as a customer I suffer more than I benefit as a result of your services. I will never use Telkom again.

Send them a message on Facebook and tell them what time to call you. That used to work for me but don't get your hopes up cos I messaged them with a question recently and I got a rather stupid answer back.

Hi Telkomza

I am not sure where else to turn, Both my domain and catch all account is not working, I have done ns and mx lookups via multiple service providers and they records are not found. The call center says I need to email [email protected] which I have done on numerous occasions. The only response that I receive is an automated response and nothing further.

Short of getting hold of billing which is practically just as impossible and cancelling the service, filling in affidavits and moving to a new hosting provider I am not sure what else I can do. No one at the call center seems to have the tools available to them to check why my mail and domain are down.

The reference I have from the automated response telkomsa.net#913215.

If I want to upgrade my line speed from 4 MB to 8 MB, must Telkom physically go out to change something at the exchange, why do they say a speed change takes up to 7 days?

Is TelkomZA still alive?

The only reason why I visit this forum is because of TelkomZA.

Not because I don't like the forum, but because there's just too much posting going around here lol. Will stick to Sagamer.

Anyway, like I said. TelkomZA reps here are extremely helpful. Thanks boys.

Hi guys,

So i got a sms from TelkomZA saying

"The ASSIA profile change is done automatically via software on the exchange side whenever there is a line issue", now are they explaning to me what it does cause i requested it to be removed, cause my line was 100% fine on 10mb and they decide no 9mb is fine, that sms was not helpful at all

Hi everyone.

My landlord is wanting to use make HD Skype calls for his (home-based) business and has been told that it is recommended he have an upload speed of 1.5Mbps. All of the home ADSL packages appear to have a 512 kbps upload rate. What packages are available which would get him the upload rate he needs? I'm not familiar with all of the packages offered by Telkom atm.

Many thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Check whether LTE Uncapped Broadband from Telkom is available in your area. It has upload speeds higher than the 1.5Mbps you are looking for.

Check whether LTE Uncapped Broadband from Telkom is available in your area. It has upload speeds higher than the 1.5Mbps you are looking for.

only other option would be fibre if available.

or could Bond ADSL Lines together not sure if that is still possible..

Two 2 mbps lines will give you 1 mbps up possibly...
