Last hope to try get some help from Telkom since their call centre and technicians seem incapable of doing their jobs.
Its been 96 days now of having the same fault. I've logged countless faults with the call centre and had technicians mark the fault as resolved without fixing any problems. Eventually in mid jan I managed to actually get a technician out who finally listened to me and did his job and checked the line and found a break in the line where water was entering (causing my problems). He promised back then to log faults with the line repair department. Around 2 weeks ago (with still no resolution) another technician came out and confirmed the copper wires were still sticking out of the line. Now the story I got from her was that "Telkom is installing finer in maybe 3 months so they are not interested in doing repairs". HOWEVER I still have to pay and I still have not got any confirmation of this allegation nor has any person from telkom ever bother to make sure this fault is resolved. Technicians keep closing faults without resolving them every time I log. It is becoming very hard to think they are doing this on purpose to avoid penalties on themselves and to avoid the billing department from seeing the truth and preventing me from getting refunds on a non functional line.
Last night my speed tests to the saix speedtest server (of course making sure nothing and no-one else was on at the same time, and of course selecting the closest server to me) I get pings of 4040ms and download speeds of 0.5Mbps (on a 10Mb line) and upload of 0.01Mbps. This is hardly working and hardly classified as best effort, its non existent effort.
Hopefully the Telkom representative can bring this to the attention of someone who cares (I am hoping there is still someone in telkom who does) and can get me answers and get my problem resolved finally.
