Last hope to try get some help from Telkom since their call centre and technicians seem incapable of doing their jobs.

Its been 96 days now of having the same fault. I've logged countless faults with the call centre and had technicians mark the fault as resolved without fixing any problems. Eventually in mid jan I managed to actually get a technician out who finally listened to me and did his job and checked the line and found a break in the line where water was entering (causing my problems). He promised back then to log faults with the line repair department. Around 2 weeks ago (with still no resolution) another technician came out and confirmed the copper wires were still sticking out of the line. Now the story I got from her was that "Telkom is installing finer in maybe 3 months so they are not interested in doing repairs". HOWEVER I still have to pay and I still have not got any confirmation of this allegation nor has any person from telkom ever bother to make sure this fault is resolved. Technicians keep closing faults without resolving them every time I log. It is becoming very hard to think they are doing this on purpose to avoid penalties on themselves and to avoid the billing department from seeing the truth and preventing me from getting refunds on a non functional line.

Last night my speed tests to the saix speedtest server (of course making sure nothing and no-one else was on at the same time, and of course selecting the closest server to me) I get pings of 4040ms and download speeds of 0.5Mbps (on a 10Mb line) and upload of 0.01Mbps. This is hardly working and hardly classified as best effort, its non existent effort.

Hopefully the Telkom representative can bring this to the attention of someone who cares (I am hoping there is still someone in telkom who does) and can get me answers and get my problem resolved finally.

I don't want to say stuff that can get me banned so please Telkomza Reply to your messages FFS. I'm getting so pissed off at Telkom. 2 of our Telephone lines at the office is out of order and Telkom just dong give a crap to fix it. so please get to it ASAP or i will have to take further actions. This is the reason we moved from Telkom ADSL to Neotel Fibre. Neotel giving us excellent service and since we signed up 4 months ago 0 issues and actually faster than advertised. Telkom can learn a thing or 2 from Neotel business.

Thank God for TelkomZA. The guys at the call center's don't have a clue. And I dnt think we can blame them. I sent through a pm and just tried to be patient. Its hard when your internet's not working LOL. But hang n there, TelkomZA will get back to you :)

Easy to say. our phone lines are dead at the office. It's been non existent since beginning of the the month. Easy to say just hang in there when it's not your business that suffers.

Just another Port Reset was done by Telkom on Exchange it seems.. stable 10 mbps was short lived...

hi all

quick question what the prob maybe could be

i got my line fixed(again) a week ago,sync was good at constant 3.6mbps

now i noticed a slight slower speed,2.5mbps?

stats seems fine and no noise on the telephone

Its ASSIA, you should see the same result in about 96 hours (that's when ASSIA will take over again), starting from the time you did the port reset. Look at your interleaving value its 96....that's why your line synced @2mb

PS: if your line does drop again, ask TelkomZA to lock your interleaving value at 32 and line sync back to 4mb :)

Not TelkomZa fault. There is so many PMs he need to deal with sometime he is a bit behind replying
when i had trouble getting my lte rica'd he called me on a Sunday asking me if all is working

Ok so this thread is my last resort.

Had my line go from 4mbit to 2.5mbit (From what I read here it seems to be ASSIA?) When I called Telkom and had them reset the port it did nothing though. Tech came out (After 3days wait) Said there was nothing physically wrong with the line, he called somebody at telkom had them change settings and I was back at 4mbit.

Now am back under 3mbit. Called telkom, was told she'd call me right back (5mins) that was a week ago. Nobody at the call center can help. Tried sending a tweet to @telkomza but got zero response there (I know am not the only one with a problem but some indication that they will get around to it would be nice)

Who do I contact to get this fixed?
