Problem started about 2 weeks ago after a bit of a rainstorm.

Fault Logged

Techie Came out and said we 1.9 km from Exchange and that he doesn't know how we had 10 Mbps as it was on 6 Mbps.. Fixed said he will monitor, call centre phoned and checked.

Said our line was unstable and that is why it has been dropped from 10 > 6 Mbps.. they tested and monitored eventually managing to get 7 Mbps stable according to them, which still falls under they're "Up to 10 Mbps" Service Agreement. Also they don't think we can get 10/20 Mbps or even 20 Mbps VDSL only option is Fibre maybe later if and when it rolls out.

10 Mbps Line was Installed and Running stable for a month up until the storm..

Not happy that I am paying for 10 Mbps and had 10 Mbps but since the Storm dropped to 9 Mbps.. then 8 Mbps then 7 Mbps then 6.. 5.. now back on 7 Mbps..

My service has settled at 8mb, but a few drops of rain, then both ADSL and voice go down for a few hours.

Please set my line to fastpath as ASSIA has made my 2Mbps download speed of my line 1536 and added an extra 30ms at least on local servers.
Attainable Down Rate says i can 3404 kbps, i tried at 3mb for a while and kept getting forced down to 2 so i downgraded my line back down to 2MB but now it's less than even that even if it ran fine for more than 2 years(at 2MB).

PM sent with affected Line number. Fault also logged

I hope you can help.

this morning it's down to 1280 kbps . . .

Down from 06:00 am yesterday morning when I woke up. Had rain during the night Saturday.

please could you sort them out telkom Replaced the wire from my house to Telkom box.

Been there done that. Chats calls pms emails etc. About ready to complain to ICASA and on Thursday one last attempt for the record voila got my modem today.

Adsl line is dead. Cant get any feedback from Call centre, Telkoms 2 twitter accounts or via logging a fault.
Every question is responded with "we will follow up with a tech and revert back to you with an update"
Update never arrives.... Rinse and repeat.

What's my options? ( have just now PM'd telkomZA on here)

I rate there's a lot of folks in the same boat. The guy who makes sure things get done where I reside is conveniently out of the country :|

So my adsl line is acting all weird tonight. I pay for a 4meg line, but it is only syncing at 2megs tonight. Weird thing is my upload speeds is above my download speeds.
@Telkomza you have a PM. Now to wait for a week for a response..

@Telkomza So it has been about 6 months without internet. There was a technician at my house and he said they need to replace the wires on the telephone pole as it is broken. I have since had a few calls but most of them sound like they just need an excuse not to fix this. I am still waiting for someone to come and fix the line so I may one day have a nice stable connection again. Please please assist me!!.

Looks like telkomZA couldnt handle all the problems and requests from telkom users. He has vanished now.
