TelkomZA

Is this discussed in a meeting? Ie "okay guys, dont forget, pretend you know what you are doing, then say you going to the exchange"
Haha...you know what the next time you receive an SMS from telkom to rate the service..just give them a big fat negative rating. Every tuesday or so they have meetings and the managers also share these ratings. They get into trouble and need to explain why the customer is not satisfied..after that you log a new fault...also try to make friends at your local telkom office , it tends to speed up the process abit

Well i need to log a call again. Clearly something is not right, but their guys insist all is good. Well i can tell you its not. Sheesh its like these guys just look and say okay all good, but then dont experience the issues that we do.

Damn so the replacement cable didnt solve the problem?...damn dude thats k@k

Guys has there been talk about Naked ADSL?? Will it be introduced eventually. Would appreciate any feedback please.

AAAAmazing! Had to almost fight with Telkom consultant to sync line back to 6.5Mbs from the 4Mbs that they decided to switch to last night. AAArgh. My distance from the exchange is a constant, only the slowly degrading line quality is the variable that needs investigating. 3 modems and 2 routers with 3 new POTS filters make no difference.

Telkom tech will come and do a probe test on the line inside and outside... or so they say... aaaand I have had this profile removed from the ASSIA fiasco... geeeezus, why is it soooo hard to get anything that you actually pay for?

Why must it be a fight to have a degrading line tested and corrected?

Dropping the sync speed is a band-aid on a broken limb... not a solution... if THIS is their only fix, then they should drop the ADSL and line rental, 'coz clearly, it is not going to be used for the maintenance of the ADSL or telcoms infrastructure for me, the client.

Will wait and see, not holding my breath.

Is there any actual Telkom consultant on this group?

TELKOM Fault Ref: 133CWK240816 logged on 24-8-2016 and today is the 31st.

Telkom technicians were meant to move our line to a different DSLAM as the one we were connected to was faulty - and DSL latency was more than 1000ms per hop.

This morning our DSL was dead - then it came back on again - and now our landline is completely dead - no dialing tone.

So my worst fears came true again - that some techie stuffed up our service EVEN more.

But Telkom is always happy to receive our monthly payments. But what am I paying you infrastructure rental for if it doesn't work as advertised?

Your Chat function on your website does not work.
If I log a fault via SMS - it tells me I have already got an open fault logged.
If I use your self help - it tells me there is no problem on our exchange.
I cant call you on a landline - because the landline I am paying for is DEAD.
If I look at your fault progress system on your website - it just says

TelkomZA does not answer in thread, you have to send them a PM detailing your problem. They usually respond by PM within 24hrs but don't forget the current CWU strike, not sure where they fit in.

Ok thanks ; was not aware of that - followed that route and sent him a PM - our line is still dead, day 2.

I also spoke to Telkom team digging up cables in area yesterday - but nothing came from talking to their supervisor.

It's so very hard to get what you're paying for...I did two port resets, logged an online fault then did a further port reset (recreating service as the people on the phone say) who then logged another fault (because the first one was closed shortly after the connection reset).

Maximum line speed is at: 1500~ kbit/s actual is about 900~ kbit/s. I used to get 1.78Mbit/s on speedtest now I can barely get to 0.9Mbit/s (only after phoning 10210). It's not a case of I need to pay more for service, I'm not even getting the service I used to get. Nor could a line that is measuring 1500~ kbit/s support a higher service than the 2Mbit/s being paid for!

Hi all

I have a client who would like to install the Telkom do basic package.
below is what the package consist of:

"The second step on the way to internet domination.
Wi-Fi Enabled modem included
Up to 2Mbps ADSL
Line rental included
20 GB SoftCap data
Free Night Surfer data (12am - 7am)
1 Email account (with 3 GB of storage and 5 aliases)"

The main reason she wants this package is because the line rental is included, however she just wants to increase the cap
per month to 100Gb or 200Gb, can anyone give the monthly cost once the cap is increased from 20Gb to 100Gb or 200Gb please, contacted Telkom's call center and they were completely ignorant.
@TelkomZA

Day 3 still no telephone line....after TELKOM was meant to move our line to a new DSLAM.

Fault was "escalated" yesterday...

I'm getting to the point of going legal action route for denial of service - whilst being expected to pay for it.

Have the names of the Telkom technicians who were meant to fix our problem - nothing has happened - we are still without analogue phone lines. And all was well with the analogue side - until they moved our copper to a new DSLAM - supposedly.

Are the Telkom chaps still operating on the forum? Do they still reply to PM's?

Dear telkom rep

Please help me with extremely slow speed on adsl line...

Is paying the extra for a business line even worth it?

I also got the SMS. I wonder if its just something that should have gone out earlier when the double data was made permanent.
