Regarding my 1mb not being upgraded since ordering it on the 1st, PM sent...

I would like to thank TelkomZA for helping me sort out my ADSL speed problem. I feel he went to great lengths to assist me and he needs to get a Bells!

Thank you TelkomZA!

Hi TelkomZA

I complained about 2 months back that my exchange in Welgemoed, Bellville was congested. I got moved from one Welgemoed exchange to another (4 to 5?) and the problem was sorted. Now its back on the new exchange. Are there any other Welgemoed exchanges? :) I'm with Telkom Internet. See my trace route below:

ADSL Klipheuwel

I am moving to a smallholding in Klipheuwel, AKA: Mikpunt, Excelsior, outside of Durbanville, in the Western Cape. I have been trying to find out if Telkom can supply ADSL services in the area but nobody at Telkom seems to have an answer. I really need a good, fast, reliable, reasonably priced connection. I have been with Telkom forever and would like to use the same service in Klipheuwel.

Not sure if this is up to date, but looks like you are out of luck.

Maybe Google a bit for businesses in the area and ask them?

Thanx. I have trawled the net for hours, found no info whatsoever, no businesses in the area, so decided to post here. Desperation overwhelms me!!
Any other ISP's spring to mind?

To this place https://maps.google.co.za/maps?q=Kl...near=Klipheuwel,+Cape+Town,+Western+Cape&z=15 ?

EDIT: I doubt you are gonna get adsl in that place as it's a small area and out in the sticks.

Download the western region spreadsheet and contact the manager for the Belville area as klipheuwel hangs off that dpsu.

From Telkom it looks like your only options would be FLLA + do 3G assuming there is coverage in that area.

There might be a WISP provider like Amobia for example that covers your area so looking into WISPs might be to your benefit.

Also contact the CTWUG and see if you will be able to reach one of their high sites, this won't give you internet but there's a lot of stuff hosted on WUGs.

Telkom phoned me earlier today to say they working on the line. Then the ADSL went dead at 15:30. I PM'ed TelkomZA at 16:00 to ask to please check what is going on.

It is now 18:00, still no connection. I have reset modem twice to see if it resolves the issue. It did not.

Frustrating.

ETA: Finally got a call from the Facebook team. The bloody technician finished the job, but did not test it from my side. We tried the telkom test account and it also did not work. Well no internet for me tonight and I wanted to catch up on the work I could not do this afternoon.

Double frustrating.

ETAA: Still no connection. Im logging fault after fault and nothing get resolved. Fault number is 220CRK151013.

This was supposed to be a 10 min change. It is now 19 hours later and still no connection. Can somebody at least just contact me and let me know what is going on. The 10210 number is useless as usual.

Been at home whole day studying, no problems with internet... can even stream 720p Youtube clips effortlessly...

Come 18h00 latency jumps to 300+ms.... cant even do a Speedtest. Cape Town Crawford side... Everynight the same thing.

Tired of logging faults all the time as well. TelkomZA... gimme some explanation please Dude!!

Sounds like congestion on the dslam backhaul.

Would this not effect every ISP equally?
