Awesome...

So I was looking at getting connected, BUT, when using Telkom ADSL checker i received...

ADSL Availability --------- Service Not Available
Maximum speed available in your area 4 Mbps

What exactly does this mean? No ports available or flat out no DSL for me :(
Do you currently have a prepaid line?

Just want to publicly thank TelkomZA for a sorting out a big problem for me - moving the line transfer date closer by almost 2 weeks! My business would have suffered if it weren't for this!

So...thank you, TelkomZA :) (I did thank him/her in a PM too)

Never had a problem with TelkomZA responding promptly to PMs in respect of faults.

I suspect that "When will Telkom do/provide this or that" type of queries are put on the back burner as that is not the purpose of this thread.

There must be a queue of PM's :) I am also awaiting a reply

So outside our complex (Lombardy Dr in Broadacres) Telkom constructed a shiny new white box (I think it's a MSAN) - @TelkomZA could you please confirm and how can I get onto that - I am currently on some mini-DSLAM which does not allow me to upgrade to 10mbps.

I was on another forum this afternoon and found a link to the following:

TelkomZA, care to explain or provide more information on this. I know most details are available in the phone books but was not aware of the fact that its available like this, all nicely mapped out and all.

Did all these clients consent to their details being available like this?
So for those of you, that are on this list. Do you have your ADSL line via Afrihost? (just a guess for now)

The guess for now is, that list is a list of clients having their ADSL lines via Afrihost. 18k lines through them sounds plausible. Also a very interesting indication of where Afrihost's clients live.

Telkom my line is not syncing. A tech came out and stated he didn't know why the line wouldn't sync, and that was that. 011 463, did DM you on twitter earlier. Please resolve asap.

TelkomZA, please respond to my PMs. I was supposed to have my line installed today, and nobody has called me. Please let me know what is going on.
