That's sad! Looks like number of complaints on this forum has chased them away.

I don't think that's the issue.

My suspicion is that those in the front line have their hearts in the right place, but are constrained by those above them...

Also they're more geared to installation queries and resolving line faults than fielding queries on Telkom policy which is what the current uproar is all about.

I asked TelkomZA for help 2 weeks back, and received very good service from Charl.
He seems to have gone fairly quiet since then.

Call Telkom and let them reset your adsl line. I also had problems, after line reset, went from 1mbps to 2mbps line, steaming and other related issues sorted.

I have tweeted and facebooked and PM'ed. They say they escalated, but still no fix. Been 12 days now.

Hi TelkomZA

I have phoned Telkom Support earlier today for a port reset and found out that I have line attenuation and now I would like a Telkom technician to come and rewire my house's old cabling. I would also like to know does it cost anything or is it a free service and who do I call for this service, what should I do to get a tech to come to my home?

My house has very old cabling and I am sure its the problem.

All of the wires are Telkom's property. Only where the wall jack is, from there onwards is it your property. You may ask them to redo the wiring, and it should be free.

They would probably test the wires before just replacing them for free.

Are they responding to PMs?

I sent them my pm last week but they haven't replied back :( TelkomZA @ Twitter is being flooded with tons of complaints so it will take a while for them to reply my tweets. #f.uckismyfaveword

What on earth is going on with your Queenswood exchange? On local speed tests I am getting latency results of 843 ms! This is unacceptable and not on when one has a 4MB line!

Last Result:
Download Speed: 574 kbps (71.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 21 kbps (2.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 822 ms

LOL. At least your download speed is greater than your upload speed. You should try Parkview JHB...... and they say there is no congestion....HA

Hi TelkomZA
You confirmed via PM that my line should be installed tomorrow, 29 Jan 2014. You did mention that " there might be a delay due to engineering issues but, hopefully this is not the case". Seems like it happened and there is no explanation for moving my installation date out by 20 days, to 18 Feb 2014.

Yesterday, at 16:30, I phoned 10210, and they confirmed that the installation will still happen tomorrow. WTH happened between yesterday and today to warrant a 20 day delay? I hope someone there at 10210 hears my plight and can escalate/resolve this. Awaiting there call......

EDIT: Seems like Bonile Makoena got it escalated and the date is on for tomorrow again. Hope it stays that way.

Hi
Posted on twitter as well, my online gaming for past 3 weeks is getting a lot of lag (League of Legends) it seem to be a gamble as one game the latency is 190ms and the next its 800ms, last night all games were above 600, Before this it was always a constant 190ms.

Don't post your phone number in here.
Unless you want one of us to show you why.
