losing my patience with Telkom. Tried twitter, call center and Im having no luck.

who thought cancelling would be such a bloody mission :wtf:

To the representative of Telkom (Steve I think) who phoned me in the early hours of the evening last night and assured me over and over that you WOULD BE sending a Technician today - &@&*^!@@%@#%@!!!!! I suppose it is silly me for actually believing him.

Hi TelkomZA

Im way beyond sarcasm or foul language. Im now at the point of resignation.

Having logged my request for my homes ADSL line to be moved to a new address on the 7 November 2013, I have made zero progress. My request has been cancelled, TWICE by Telkom ( then relogged by me after hours of waiting on the phone). I have blown my cell account holding for a voice on telkoms call centre. Ive tried Twitter ( TelkomZA ), and NOTHING. No communication back. No call to tell me Telkom is just very busy. No call to confirm a date. (move date was supposed to be 16 December. )

Is this really what everybody is experiencing with Telkom ? What do I have to do ? Im at the point where I believe all I can do is cancel my account. Ive not had a service for 1.5 months. In the meantime, Im paying Telkom for a service I dont have.

So where to now. Do I just accept Im talking to a vacuum, and cancel my Telkom line, and give up ?

Can you help? Anybody else with a miracle idea ?

Go to the walk in shop.
I had issues with the call center as well.

Dear Telkom, I will not pay my bill until you fix my ADSL...ha ha ha ha. As if that would speed them up, how funny.

Anyone else here live in Douglasdale (Fourways JHB). My phone line has been dead since 6am. I dont want to call and waste my time if it is a general outage. Thanks in advance.

My ping to Europe varies between 300 ms and 700 ms at the moment from Strand. My local 4 Mb/s internet is fine.

I have escalated 4 times with the Call centre, yet the line is still dead and no Telkom Technician has been to site at all.

You are waisting your time. Try twitter. Telkom has not responded to my pms and messages since last year. They dont monitor this forum anymore.

I PMed them yesterday, and got a reply today...

I joined with a different user name last year and got no response from telkom. This year i pm'd them in early january again. No response. How did you get a redponse? Was it a pm?

As I said:

I suspect though, that there is something very foul going on.

I do feel for the reps, as they are the receiving end of our ire, but all of my dealings with them have pointed to their desire to help as much as they can, as quickly as they can.

Whoever they answer to though, they appear to need a good kick in the leg-forks.

Thanks copacetic. TelkomZa have assisted me with previous queries, so hopefully they will assist again . I use TelkomZA when I am getting nowhere with the call centre and have been thankful for the assistance. Sent a PM now as well with more detail.

It is a hard job taking flak all the time as company reps and trying to resolve issues that have been raised, so I do appreciate the help they give. Hopefully my issue will be resolved speedily.

I sent TelkomZA a private message and he requested my landline number.
I supplied it and within less than a week I was upgraded.
He must be inundated with requests and demands and I do believe some of those may be from very rude people as well.

I am so glad I found this thread. I have a big issue in that my Telkom line is dead and I logged a fault on 1 Feb. I have had no feedback yet on what is going on. I have exhausted all options from daily phone calls to call centre to complaints on Hellopeter.com (See this link). Perhaps someone here can help me? My ADSL was working but the voice part was dead. I then logged a fault on 1 Feb but after the technician came out on 3 Feb my ADSL portion was also dead and I have not heard anything from Telkom since. My fault number is 145CTK010214.
