I am so glad I found this thread. I have a big issue in that my Telkom line is dead and I logged a fault on 1 Feb. I have had no feedback yet on what is going on. I have exhausted all options from daily phone calls to call centre to complaints on Hellopeter.com (See this link). Perhaps someone here can help me? My ADSL was working but the voice part was dead. I then logged a fault on 1 Feb but after the technician came out on 3 Feb my ADSL portion was also dead and I have not heard anything from Telkom since. My fault number is 145CTK010214.
You are wasting your time posting here. Your best bet is to PM TelkomZA and provide the info in the PM.
The other option is to contact @TelkomZA on Twitter.

The response is faster on the Twitter account. Not sure if they have more personnel, but it is definitely faster.

I want to express my thanks to TelkomZA for the assistance.
My fault had been logged and was not being attended despite escalating a number of times.
After the intervention by telkomZa the fault was resolved on Friday.

Keep up the good work Guys! :D
Pity that we have to resort to getting you involved to get action from the Techies on the ground.

(I am really frustrated and disappointed with Telkom's lack of response and apparent disregard for their customers)

Nothing was done to my line and the fault was closed, I did not even receive a call.
I include my latest modem figures, notice the poor Downstream SNR, this causes the line to be disconnect frequently. THERE IS A BAD CONNECTION ON THE COPPER. Nothing changed
I have had it with Telkom, technicians simply close the faults, how do I get it re-opened? and escallated! Please!
Failing a resolution in this matter I will cancel all my services with Telkom! The service is really pathetic.
I cannot spend close to R700 (incl ISP) a month on this pathetic service.

Telkom ZA has been assisting me, they def are busy but they are getting back to me and assisting - so thanks!

Indeed, they have pretty much been stealing my money for the last 3 years, 1 year of congestion and now my line is down every few months because the copper is so bad (Technician said it needs replacing...6 months ago) So every year i probably have a full month of downtime waiting for them to fix it. So now i sit with no ****ing line for the weekend, no response on twitter, fault still pending. So over this ****. Trying to find that post with all the regional managers numbers' on.

I'm having some DNS problems it looks like. What should I be setting? I was on another ISP but it looks like Telkom needs something set.

The guys getting assisted must be the lucky ones....I'm just met with silence even though I suspect my issue is easy to remedy...

I was really beginning to think Telkom had improved.

Also waiting. I strongly suspect that TelkomZA has been inundated with PM's lately though

Edit: TelkomZA replied shortly after I made this post. Looks like there is hope for my line after all :)

I got a reply too eventually. Unfortunately every time Telkom looks into my issue it works 100% for a few days - in this case my line synced at the correct speed (something it hasn't done for about 2 months) from Saturday midday right through to the early hours of this morning when everything went pear-shaped again....

Now I'm back on the sync speed / Internet connectivity wheel of misfortune again. Please Telkom, a permanent solution - move my line, replace the hardware, whatever...just fix it!
