HI, I have a question about Uncapped Usage: When does one get throttled on a Telkom uncapped 4Meg line package?? I have only used 199Gig so far this month and am throttled

Found out the billing problem, Some BrightSpark cancelled my Debit Order instead of increasing the maximin limite

Misuse of 'up to'.
Customer: I want a 10Mbps ADSL line.
Telkom: Sorry sir, you are too far from the exchange. We estimate that you can get a maximum of 6Mbps downstream.
Customer: Rubbish, my mate has a 10Mbps line and I demand one as well, you ****.
Telkom: Please remember that this call is being recorded. Are you sure you want to pay for a 10Mbps line?
Customer: Yes, you dumb ******* idiot!!! Don't you want my money???
Telkom: No problem sir, I have linked you to a 10Mbps profile. Enjoy your day.

Hi TelkomZA,

The 011 433 exchange (Robertsham 3 or 4, I can't remember) is refusing to authenticate any of my DSL accounts (Vox, WA, OpenWeb). The issue started at about 20h10 tonight.

Has the problem been identified? If yes, is there an ETA on when it will be resolved?

So my problem has finally been resolved, after numerous faults logged, technicians would do something, close the issue. It would seem ok, my SNR of 6.0 is holding out, line up for 24hours at a time and then just suddenly it loses sync and drops every 5 minutes... Log a new fault...

This weekend a technician called, said that I am too far from the exchange and offered to swap me to a different exchange.

Now my line stats are excellent and I have not had any issues.... thinking of even upgrading to the 10Mbps option. I am finally getting what I am paying for!
Good service at Telkom, it does exisist!!! Keep your cool, be polite

@Telkom_ZA please make sure that this dude gets a bonus, he deserves it! And thank you Telkom_ZA for prioritising my faults.

Hi there,
I live in an area where its said that the maximum speed allowed is 2mbps.
I want 4bmps or higher. How do I go about getting these speeds? Is there anything that can be done, or is it just a waiting game until telkom upgrades the lines?

How long does it normally take TelkomZA to reply ? ... I know I ranted after hours last night and didn't expect a reply ... But does he/they reply on weekends ?

It can take a few days, remember they are not just here but also on Twitter and other places. But it is always a pleasure dealing with them.

MyBB should start funding stem cell research so we can clone Charls to man the helpdesks at Telkom.

I had an issue with my line since yesterday 17:00. The problem was sorted at 15:30 today.

I figured it would take a few days, was kinda hoping for at least an acknowledgement to show that he at least received my message ... =P

I guess I must just learn to be patient

You expect a reply to a rant? That's a bit much. They reply during normal office hours only.

I ranted slightly in the message because I was annoyed to no end ...

Considering I have had the same problem since Feb, had 3 technicians come out nothing came about it and was advised to buy a new router after the recommended Pace router turned out to be junk ... Guess what .. same problem ... ...

I think I had the right, no ? ...

So apparently you can get 20meg on ADSL 2 now. Few guys from work are doing this. Please advise how to persuade the sales staff that this is possible. They insist that its only an option if you move over to VDSL.

Also, if I do move to VDSL, is it confirmed that we can do a self install?

You have the right to do whatever you like but to go off on the people who can help you is like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

You have a right to be angry. Rather rant in some thread and send them a decent message.
