TelkomZA

Thanks to TelkomZA / Charl for the amazing turnaround time! Awesome work.

Charl / TelkomZa

I would like (again) to thank you and your team for your availability, patience and your honesty.

You took it upon yourself to follow up frequently after my initial PM, no request for an update was needed.
You weathered my noob replies and not once did you make me feel that I was an inconvenience or an irritation.
You responded to every point in every PM I sent... and did not omit a single thing.
You never requested reams and reams of irrelevant tests or tracerts... and that you did request, you offered feedback on... without me asking.
You offered more than I requested and you stuck with me despite my impatience and irritability.
You never once tried to deflect blame or shield responsibility.
Your almost daily feedback and advice has been the most valued input I have to date received from ANY company representative.

Again, thank you... and your team... for your time, effort, patience and input.

You are all worth more than your weight in iPhone6 Pluses... especially in this country.

Sure is, one helluva Professional, humble Guy. He will go the extra mile to help the community with Network (Saix) related issues.
Well done Charl, your value, input, patience & knowledge is brilliant!

Another pat on the back for Charl / TelkomZA. Not only did he reply to my PMs with relevant, clear answers to my questions, but he took the time to call me and clarify some of the concerns I had relating to my line.

He is pleasant, professional and knowledgeable and has gone a long way in restoring some of my faith in Telkom.

TelkomZA, please see my PM. I've gone from a good 4MB line with 40db Attenuation to a line that can barely sync at 2.5 with 55db attenuation and half the SNR ratio it had a few days ago. Line also takes ages to sync (if it even does). No one is able to assist, fault was just closed today (with the outcoming being my line is WORSE) and no one at 10210 can help me.

Hi TelkomZA, is it possible that I am not allowed to apply for ADSL in an area that doesn't have cables because we are being upgraded to fibre? I spoke to someone on 10210 who told me this. Thanks

Telkom 50gig 2Mb capped account. Have only used about 20 gigs this month. Look at this for local speeds:

and this ( afrihost 1Gig) is free :

What is going on ?

I have exactly the same scenario on my home 2MB ADSL and my office 6MB ADSL. Telkom capped account is crawling yet when I change to Afrihost, I get full line speed. Something is not right and I just wish I knew what is going on!

Happy birthday Charl,

Enjoy & thx for all the value effort and input.

Can I get naked adsl please Telkom :) and no not like that. I have no need for a voice line, but I do need adsl

Got grade A responses from Charl in the past so will back above support comments.

As for Telkom support (telephone) mixed bunch. Recently phoned to fixed a line sync issue:

Attempt 1:

"Hazel": Grade A lying & deceptive bullsht. Gave me horsesht router instructions and then quickly hung up without waiting for a response.

Attempt 2:

"Anna": Genuinely helpful and (uber) polite. Ended up concluding the line is screwed and logged a fault. Resolved within 24h.

Wish I had a way of pinpointing the people in question better so that I can rain hell on some Telkom staff and rain praise on others. Personally I think they should give their employee numbers at the start of the conversation...then we'll soon find out on mybb who is the real deal and who isn't.

Hi Telkomza

Kind Regards

Hi, can someone please advise me on what can be wrong.

I am struggling to access my email hosted server with my Telkom ADSL account. I can access everything including my cpanel with a MWeb, vodacom and FNB ISP account but not with my Telkom ISP account.

I have send an email to [email protected] but they can't or don't want to help me get the issue resolved.

Here is the Tracert

Someone needs to give Charl a bells, unbelievably good service levels from him via PM.

Telkom could do with a thousand more like him in the service department.
