Let's face it, these apps are crap.

Still better than Kodi.

Plenty of choice over the apps, I just install them all and search in each one when I’m looking for something specific.

I use mobdro and cast it to the tv. There might be acestream links, depending on the match, if you search for “event+acestream” or check reddit.

Redbox TV - most of the sports streams for HD channels are in HD.

I haven't used anything other than Kodi + Placenta and uTorrent lately. Haven't needed to.

Kodi is clumsy and not all that user friendly, especially on a phone, the apps are like using Netflix.

I open the app, (3 seconds) and either open favourites or type into search (5 seconds) and 10 seconds later I’m watching the stream.
