Testers Wanted - Netflix DNS Proxy

Issues seem intermittent at this point.

It looks like Netflix is actively trying to block users who are using the CDN but didn't auth via the IP they're connecting to the CDN with (at a guess). I'd need to troubleshoot further.

Basically Proxy > Auth > Then it changes to your IP > CDN > Netflix content ---- SO if you're IP connecting to the CDN isn't in their login DB then I assume they bounce you.

So, then just register a SA Netflix account. We don have static IP's anyway, cant see them keeping a DB with all possible IP's.

With 1/3rd of the catalogue... Nah...

Working for me at home again - lets see how long it lasts...

OP or some of the other users might be able to deduce a few things about how Hulu works

(I am casting Hulu to a Chromecast 1 attached to my TV from a Chrome window on my laptop using Zenmate Premium, which sometimes works and sometimes hits me with the dreaded "only to be shown in the USA" or "we detect you are using a VPN proxy from another country" Blackscreen messages.
When Zenmate fails to work, I try tvunblock's 2nd DNS 192.241.137.65 or JSheed's DNS 154.127.60.71 in my router's settings.

Here is the Hulu error message for those who would like to do some detective work (space is my username - I have no idea who the alfred is that the message is referring to):

“you seem to be using an unlocker or proxy. Please turn off any of these services and try again. for more help, visit netflix.com/proxy”

:( - I'm guessing Netflix are scanning IP ranges and starting to block again... It may be time to move to a new host... I'll work on this later and see what testing brings up.

I switched the backend to another host in Buffalo NY (from LA) and still no luck.

My guess is Netflix is blocking datacenter ranges and the only way past it would now be a residential IP - which is pretty much impossible to get if you're outside the country...

Poor guys working for data centers, all that bandwidth and they can't watch Netflix! :D

This still working for anybody?

I think the Netflix crackdown that they've been threatening for ages has finally happened.

The only way I can see that you'll still be connected is if you're using an older app version.

If this is still working for you could you please post:

It's been a good run - but i'm shutting this down.

It's simply too much work playing cat and mouse with Netflix nowadays...

It was a good run, thanks for the hours on hours of entertainment you gave me access to.

Do you have any statistics like peak throughput, number of unique IP's etc. that would be kind of cool to see.

I can't believe you havent had a flood of thanks. It was a great free service you offered and I thank you!

Any chance of still keeping this going for other services than Netflix.

Would be awesome if I can still use it for hulu and Pandora.

Possibly - but it costs money and was running at a loss for most of the time.
