The 2016 Way Less Objectivity thread

Went up 1.5 kg to 76.5kg

Was at a conference for a week so I blame the buffet tables.....

Weight has not changed for the last 2 stressful weeks, regular hours and eating habits went out the window. This week things should be back on track and hopefully I will see some good change.

Still on 88kg this morning. Didn't really stick to my diet over the last few days.. so I'm happy I didn't put on any weight over this period.

thought I would update as well. I can do 20 sit ups every night now. so I am a month ahead of my own shedule, I think I cant remember what my goad was. but we have been keeping up with the exercises.

I did weigh in just after I posted, and I was at 107kg, I have not checked since then, but I have needed to use a new belt hole, so it feels like something is happening.

all we have been doing is controlling our portions, doing like half an hours sit ups, and other simple little things, we do it together and keep each other motivated.

last week she found an air guitar workout. we have done a few of those, but much like push ups and jump squats my joints cannot handle it. I have severe pain in my wrists if I do push ups before my arms get tired, and the same happens in my ankles from too much impact.

so I am working on finding other ways to work those areas that do not involve impact on the joints. trust me its not easy.

if anyone has tips on that I am open to them. and yes the same thing happens with weights as well.

do you know what the issue is with the joints getting sore? maybe its something like osteoporosis or something alike

its the reason I stopped going to gym in the first place.

it started with my left ankle when I was 10. but the right one was fine, so I could run, but some days it got pretty bad. then in late 2005 the right one started doing the same thing, and after going for a run they would both be very sore for a few days. then they would heal up, and I would go for a run again, and the same thing would happen.
I tried a treadmill instead, and the same thing happend.

in 2009 it started happening with my wrists. I have not gone for x rays or anything to see what is up, because honestly it was never an issue. then I quit drinking and got the beer belly. now in trying to loose it I realise I cannot lift weights (dumbells or Bench press) I cannot do push ups or pull ups, but I can do planking, it seems the root is movement in the wrists.

and I can feel my right knee starting with the same thing as well. I thought it was just a dign of getting old, I am turning 30 soon....

On Friday night yah.. a few craft beers and then a few whiskeys at a braai later that night. Had Dominos pizza on Saturday, and then went to visit family in Joburg South for lunch yesterday (had some potatoes and a few rotis).. and a few whiskeys...

o dear... weigh yourself tomorrow again... report back.

OK so let me update you....

Last Monday I swam 50 lengths.
Last Wednesday I swam 60 lengths.
Saturday afternoon I swam 60 lengths.
But I didn't lose any weight, just maintained the 138 Kgs. from the week before.

But I started having a flare up of my athlete's foot (which I have had on and off for many years).
By Friday last week it was quite bad and I had a few blisters on my feet.
I soaked my feet in salt water and anti-bacterial soap and put anti-fungal cream on.
But by Sunday the blisters had changed into full blown weeping red sores.
So this morning I went to the Doc and he took a look.
He says he thinks they are diabetes sores (secondary bacterial infections).
He tested my blood sugar and it was 8 (without eating anything since last night).
So he has lined me up for additional tests and put me on an anti-biotic.
So I won't be swimming this week. :(
I've suspected that I might be pre-diabetic for some time now as I have all the other symptoms (Headaches, pins & needles, frequent urination, etc.)
So let's hope that if I can continue to lose weight that I can get rid of those symptoms!
