The 2016 Way Less Objectivity thread

I do actually eat carbs, and I hate meat fat - always have - so not eating that at all. Basically I eat smaller portions of carbs, much less often. And the one thing I've cut out even more, is sugar.

So basically:

- Moderate carbs, but definitely not every day any more, maybe once in 3 days.
- I eat a banana, apple and a carrot at work.
- Meat once or twice a week, no fat.
- A sweet a week, maybe. Small portions.
- Some nights we only eat a salad for dinner, nothing else.
- Drinking lots of water per day, 3 litres some days. Helps that I'm thirsty a lot, but I didn't use to listen to my body's needs before regarding thirst, now I do.

I'm not following any strict plan, I'm just being a lot more disciplined. Since stopping the binge eating (many pizzas/hamburgers a week), I was surprised to find I still have a pretty great metabolism. The wife's pretty jealous, though, I think snails are faster than her metabolism. She's been following the same eating pattern as I am, and gymming about 3 or 4 times a week, and only eats portions of a mouse, and she's only lost 3KG in the same time, despite being about 20KG overweight to start with. I really wish I could help her more. When she tries these metabolism boosters, all of them give her heart palpitations and she goes dizzy, and besides I believe they don't do much anyway.

Ah that's great man. Nothing provides more motivation than actual results. Keep going!

@Fannie, can we access a sheet with all the data points? I want to plug mine in to something at some point. Last years as well if you got.

I've only done this years, last years was run by someone else.

I've been thinking about 2017, and I think we need to run it along the lines of the Reddit Keto's challenge, where each of the participants are responsible to update their part of the spreadsheet. What do you think?

138kg.

I have finally broken through another barrier.

It seems to be getting easier as my leg heals.

Oh, and can I give you the spreadsheet end November when we close this year off? Or do you want it before hand. PM me an email address and I'll send it to you.

So for 2017:
- Each participant records their own progress on a set weekly basis (Fridays)
- Challenges will run on a month to month basis, and I'll try to report with infograpics, graphs, stats, etc at the end of each challenge.
- Overall progress through the year will be recorded as well so we can generate some stats based on that as well.

I'll see if I can publish the suggested format of the spreadsheet asap so there is enough time for input from everyone before the new year starts.

Thoughts everyone?

I am not very proud of myself, gained weight. 82.1kg now
The combination of a extravagant work lunch, SO that can't cook and mostly the almost daily rain that keeps me from going for a bike ride. I can't do a run or any thing else because of a previous sports back injury. Cycle is what I can do and almost all I can do.
But the safest cycling is the off road cycling (MTB)(at the club) and because of the rain the trails are closed for safety reasons

As promised, I was at the doctor yesterday (to get an updated script for my blood pressure meds). I also took a copy of the eating plan I am on with. I asked him to please give me his opinions, considering the concerns voiced on this forum regarding its safety. He gave it a look through and said that it seems quite balanced to him - containing enough of both carbs and protein. I told him about the weight loss I had in the 1st month and he said that it is quite good (not impressive; good for my health). Also mentioned my wife's achievement to which he also didn't seem shocked or concerned. I told him that we had gained a bit in the break we took before starting again and he said it doesn't really matter, as long as the overall trend is downwards.

So, I am not dying from malnutrition, and therefore I am relieved and actually quite happy.

Thanks man. :) Wearing a jean I got too big for like 2 years ago already, again for the first time today. Feels like I need a belt already.

So what I did with my belt.... it's the only thing I kept. And just kept making new holes... it's like wearing your reminder on you and feels fantastic every time you make a new hole!

Thanks for the update. You are not technically dying until you have no fat stores. Rapid weight loss can be dangerous and put a strain on your heart - but if your doctor is happy, then that's great.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm on day 10 and doing just fine, I'll weigh tomorrow morning, I definatly lost centimeters so will see how much weight I lost so far, my first micro goal is getting under 130.

If I may ask, are you doing any exercise while on this plan, what is your general day like, do you walk around a lot doing your work or do you sit behind a computer all day?

nice. well this year is almost over... going to join us for next year?

Think we'll start on the 9th of Jan with challenge 1

Ja.
Also about to punch a new hole in my belt.

The 2.5 grand motorcycle jacket I just bought JUSt fits. How's that for motivation not to go off track?
