The 2019 Weight Loss Thread - Workout Check-in Thread

This started out badly. Well it started great actually until I looked at the phone and saw 145bpm after over 3 minutes at my usual pace. No way. Either my heart or the monitor was acting up.

I hadn't wet the strap. I kept going until I started sweating and more sensible readings came up. I almost stopped at 15 minutes (bad case of cottonmouth) but I decided to stick it out for another 5 minutes.

At some point I decided I should confirm/prove I'm staying aerobic at these heart rates and keep it up for 45 minutes.

It's actually impossible for me to stay anaerobic while skipping. My right foot catches the rope involuntarily (no matter how hard I try not to). The only way around that is to slow down.

Edit: Oh and I drink a teaspoon of turmeric a day to help with recovery. Amazing stuff.

How do you take that? Do you mix it with anything?

I see fresh turmeric for sale in a few places these days - might be good to add to some sort of smoothie maybe.

I drink it in half a glass of water, like a shot. Ginger apparently also works, I haven’t tried that yet though.

Pressed for time tonight because wife has a night out with friends and her lift picked her up at 18h00 now. Rushed through a shortened workout.

Now it's just me and the kids for the night. I predict lots of Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol

I really want to work out tonight but I'm slightly sore all over. No injuries yet but one more session would be too much.

I've been quite lucky actually. I had tennis elbow once then a colleague recommended turmeric which cured it. Other than that no problems. I really want to avoid running on my heels (lots of metal in there) so I'm pushing my achilles tendon a bit.

I'll be doing this a bit later:

Watch battled to get a reading for part of mine :(
