The 2019 Weight Loss Thread - Workout Check-in Thread

Me so far today.... I'll be at the office until about 6:30pm, from here to Rosebank for movie screening, and probably only home by 10pm. I brought my kettlebell in with me and am hoping nobody else stays too late here today so I can get my second session in later, and will do best to walk around the office while reading text book after work, and the mall pre movie, to hit step goal  What have you people done to me?! (thankyou!)

That's the spirit!

Only yoga later tonight.

I really want to skip again but I'm pretty knackered. Not hurt just my neck and traps and calves feel very well used. Pecs and abs and quads too. Almost everything actually.

Feeling the weight of the rope in my hands just clicked with me last night. If it gets lighter you're not really in control... somehow I hadn't noticed that before. Big difference, I feel like I'm getting somewhere now.

I'll get an early night though. I'm properly hydrated but I feel like I pulled an all-nighter (I had 6 hours of sleep).

Nice work everyone, lots of impressive stuff lately.

Enjoy whatever you get up to ;)

Well done poppie. My day's run...

Does your watch support dynamic step goals?

Do you mean auto adjusts based on performance? It can auto adjust based on activity, but I find 10000 to be just barely manageable with my mainly "on my arse all day long" lifestyle, so I manually set it to that for daily goal. I also found in the past if I don't set it to that, and just use the activity based goals, I land up only ever hovering around the 8000 mark, and don't push myself to go further because "goal reached".

Exactly what I meant. Ok, I generally leave mine to auto adjust. I find garmin pretty stingy with step count although probably the most accurate. I also gave a horrible habit of holding on for part of my run, which stops the steps counting

Yeah I've also found it to be stingy, but I'd rather be doing more, thinking I'm doing less!

.... And yeah, I must look very odd when shopping trying to steer a trolley with one arm so I don't lose steps.. How to spot somebody with a fitness watch in the wild

How irritating that a trolley stops it counting! I also do the one handed thing when I remember. You on discovery?

Sadly not.

I assume a trolley stops it as your wrist is motionless, I've never made an actual effort to check though.

The trolley thing also bugs me. I'll do 2 hours of shopping around the mall with wife and kids and rack up 150 odd steps because I was pushing the trolley. Wife will clocks up 4000 steps though.
And running while pushing a kids stroller...I'll get the discovery points for the heart rate over time recording, but my 7 or 8000+ steps don't rack up.

Yeah what to do though.

Yeah what to do though.

Try and put the watch in your pocket in these instances, I've seen it recommended before. I'm never shopping for long enough, or having to push strollers about so I've never tried it myself.

Just couldn't get it off bed this morning, and my legs are way too tired, so set up my own KB routine to exclude squats :p Combination of core and upper body exercises.
