The 2019 Weight Loss Thread

I'm mostly a cardio guy... I guess I should be switching to weights (or at least supplementing the cardio with weights)?

I wish I knew too, never been much of a weights guy myself.

Have you thought of adding bodyweight and calisthenics type exercises for strength training? No need for gym membership or equipment to get started and can contribute to strength, muscle gain and fat loss.

I'm the exact opposite. Cardio bores me quickly. My mind wanders when I do cardio for anything longer than 15min.

Weights mean I need to be focused for each and every rep.

My cardio is almost always HIIT sprints. 15min of feeling like dying but it is done and dusted. And more and more studies showing the benefits of HIIT.

Great place to start. Pull-ups, push-ups, box jumps, hanging leg raises, L-Sits, just to name a few that will make you realise very quickly how much you can achieve without weights. Some of those are still part of my routine even with heavy lifting.

But in the end it always comes down to diet unless you are a pro athlete doing 4hrs of training a day.

My cardio workouts are in the gym. Mostly 30 mins on the assault fitness bike (1 min push till you die / 2 min recover to 80% of max HR) or 30mins on the rowing machine. I used to do supercircuit some time ago... wondering if I should go back to that

But in the end it always comes down to diet
^^ This. Although I don't eat bad (which has enabled my to loose plenty kgs over the last few years and keep it off), I guess to get more cut I will need to focus more on what I eat. Damn you pasta!

All signs point to getting more muscle mass.

My metabolic stress pathway has dried up. I could go until I deplete my glycogen stores but I don't have that kind of time.

That leaves eccentric damage and progressive overload. It sucks going from something you're good at to being clueless again but it looks like that's what I need.

I guess if having abs was easy everyone would have them.

Hi All. For those on Keto LCHF. Can you please guide me? I do a lot of research and then end up for confused.

What the most comprehensive website I can read up on this including recipes etc. I want to start adopting this and also start drawing up meal plans.

Also a thread here on MyBB for LCHF / banting.

Added some Apple Cider Vinegar to my routine today and I must say that it does help with the food cravings.. now I must just remember not to enter the Bunny Chow thread :/

For all the guys doing the apple cider vinegar thing.

Why? When? How? Real difference?

Not trick questions or anything. I've read all the articles. But really interested in some anecdotal advice/opinions.

Really want to know why (for which claimed benefit) you started it.

When do you consume it and how? Straight out of the bottle or diluted?

And when and which benefit(s) did you really notice?

Thanks guys.
