Pretty much. I was going to start writing a mini-rant about how we need a complete overhaul of the football infrastructure in the country, starting from U-6 level, but I don't have the energy.
I don't know that he's done an enormous amount wrong.The converse may be equally true.

Doubt they will. He's very popular over at SAFA House and the players and supporters like him. What SAFA needs to do is sort out their junior structures like Parreira kept on preaching to them during his term. We have the best infrastructure and richest Football league in Africa but the dumbest administrators.

Queiroz told them the same. He actually wrote them a step by step guide but the idiots fired him and hired Jomo. SAFA operate like a political party modeled on the ANC.
They will do nothing until they see where the most criticism lies. Then they make a knee jerk decision to appease the critic they fear most.

Sort out a good scouting/youth system and then in 7-8 years we can start to the reap the benefits with skillful young players that have good footballing brain.

Oh yes, we are like England in many ways. We have 1 major success which we can't stop talking about. We think that we are better than we really are. We should do better. We're constantly surprised by bad results. We hype players to hell and back. We couldn't identify talent if our lives depended on it.
I'd like to think that this leads to the football overhual SA need years ago, but I doubt it. Likely we'll get some kak about the rules, and then SAFA telling us to look forward to 2013.

They're trying their best over at Ajax Cape Town to show SAFA how its done. They hardly buy players over there and look at Thulane Serero, 2 years ago no one knew his name, last week he played in UEFA Champions League. Kaizer Chiefs used to have a youth academy but that seems to have also fallen off the map.
What's even more ironic is that our regular captain, Steven Pienaar, was groomed through a SAFA youth programme at The School of Excellence. That model worked but somehow SAFA contrived a way of collapsing that too. France won a world cup through players groomed at a young age through concentrated programmes.
Argh, its just so frustrating. *sigh*

I just wish we could get some decent administrators! We have the passion, we have the players, the money is there. We just need to put it all together.
Was looking forward to a win from us,but i got pretty damn bored, same old story not able to score. We are nowhere near where we should be. We need somma back.

England has amazing talent identificafion methods and youth training structures but their problem is the 5/10 mile rule. Clubs can‘t accept a player further than a certain distance from the club. Idiotic. Barca have a footballing academy where the boys get around 10-15 hours a week more football than any English club. The second problem is the step up fron youth to pro football. Spain has B Teams that compete in the lower divisions enabling academy graduates to get lots of game time in a competative environment. We wish we had England‘s problems. The only similarity is the incompetance of the administrators.

I have been a football supporter avidly for about 10 years now. In those 10 years I can NEVER recall a a sheer drop in emotions like I did last night!

Someone's job in the technical team should have been aware of the rules CAF APPLY!

speechless? why? SAFA and Pitso are morons for "not knowing" rules before and after the match...
SAFA are idiots... CAF rules clearly states:
Therefore, in application of rule 14.1 CAF has considered only results of matches between the concerned teams, i.e. Niger, South Africa and Sierra Leone (discounting Egypt as the bottom team with 5 points - hence not concerned anymore), resulting in the following ranking based on 4 matches played by each teams concerned:
- Niger: 6 points
- South Africa : 5 points
- Sierra Leone : 5 points.
SAFA and Pitso are retards thinking they a draw will be sufficient enough to qualify when playing @ home against Sierra Leone what should one do? Go for the WIN regardless of the points - why? If you want to be winners surely the mentality is to WIN every match you come across...
What right do you have to go contest a ruling - written years ago when you as a team/nation FAIL to win the matches set out against you???
Did you see SARU telling our Bokke to lose our last two matches to ensure we have a easier route to the final??? No even if they did do you think our players would agree to it? The principle is to WIN every match! That is the mentality of WINNERS!
People keep on saying this. Clearly there is a point to playing Eqypt.

This has got fck all to do with the coach. We could have Mourinho, Capello and Hiddink put together as coaches and we would still be ****. The entire footballing ecosystem in this country is rotten and only a proper overhaul will result in proper results. Brave decisions need to be taken now and evem then it wiuld tae around 20 odd years for the resulta to show. Dont delude yourselves people... there is no shortcut.

The overhual is definately needed. We need to start now with proper schools leagues, force all PSL and NFD clubs to run proper acedemies, actually use the FIFA breaks for U17, U20, U23 matches instead of only assembling them for qualifiers. We need Bafana playing on every match day, not just qualifiers. We need the School of Excellence back. We need provincial and regional scouts, this country is HUGE! Our PSL clubs need to take the CAF CL seriously. Coach the coaches, the licences are a good start, but it needs to be expanded. Facilities, have you seen the way some township 'pitches' look.
We need to do that and probably more. It's that, or do what some other African countries are doing and 'import' European trained players.
