Other than the coach being the problem, I also noticed some very disturbing tendencies in our overall systems of play.
1. The team plays a lot of stagnant back passes and square passes.
2. The build up pace is far to slow. Our players do not pass with the first touch.
Possession does not win matches. Ethiopia had far less possession but had far better scoring chances. In the first half we had zero shots on target from open play.
We actually got a little bit better when we had Punch Masanamela making incisive runs out wide on the left in the second half.
