Okay, after about 2 and a half months of rehab an no gym (except a bit of legs) I'll be most likely starting again next week (if all goes well at the orthopedist).
I already ordered myself a shizz-load of supps. Some Evox 5XL, SSN CreaMass and I want to try the CytoSport MonsterPump also.
Besides the supps, do you guys think it will be wise to hit the circuit for a week or 2 before trying my normal routine?

*sigh* This is going to be hard :(
Thanks in advance!

Na it wont be hard, it'll be awesome being back in there, skip the circuit go straight for the free weights!
Maybe go light on all movements that involve your shoulders for the first week or so? Unless you feel pain, in which case, stop!

Congrats for keeping yourself away from the gym for 2.5 months

Yea that monster pump looks sick :D.

I am not certain but i would imagine you should hold off your old routine and just go light for a bit. GL dude i hope it's sorted.

I never work out if i am sore but some light gym won't hurt. It will make recovery longer.

Well, seeing that I did not gym for 2.5 months I'll be sore a hell for the first few weeks.

I usually just warm up thoroughly and do a bit a stretching if I'm sore, but apart from that I still hit the weights as normal.

*edit* sore as in stiff-sore or as in pain-sore? There's a difference though. If you feel any pain, keep away!

if the stiffness is mild, i usually exercise. It goes quickly once you get going

A few colleagues at work have gone to gym with me in the past to lose weight, but after that first week they are in too much pain, then they stay away for too long, lose motivation and never return. Soreness is normal when you start to gym though and like mentioned by tau1z, if its only mild I work through the pain.

I use a product called ice-man, its a gel you can now get from dischem that they used to use on horses.
I apply on quads, calves and arms. Wait a few minutes till it "warms" the muscles up, then do a general stretch routine which I mix up with crunches and core strenghtening to make it more fun.

the stiffness is the best part!

muscle symmetry

regarding my earlier question about muscle symmetry, here's link to an athleanX youtube vid and his recommendation for overcoming the problem.

http://athleanx.com Do you find that your muscular development is sometimes not that symmetrical or equal between your right and left sides? It's not an all too uncommon thing and there are lots of potential reasons for it. Does it mean that you have to start working out completely differently in order to overcome any strength or size discrepancy? Not at all.

With this quick tip you can instantly start improving the all important mind to muscle link that is crucial for getting not only a muscle to grow, but more importantly, to grow at the same rate and strength level as the one on the opposite side.

Using the dumbbells that you're already using, you can simply mix and match the weight you are using for a given exercise. For example with the dumbbell biceps curl or hammer curl, if you normally use 35 lbs for the lift, you can hold a 35 lb dumbbell in one hand and a 25 or 20lb dumbbell in the other. The key here is to move the weights at the same speed!

This will force you to accelerate the heavier dumbbell and slow down the lighter one. This will improve your concentration on the lift and be able to finally activate muscle groups that you were most likely ignoring due to the compensation of a stronger side all along.

Nice just be careful if you are a bit sensitive to that type of pre work out hey. Also don't blame me if it's no good :D.

Kewl, thanks. The only "potent" pre-workout supp in that range I've used is VPX N.O. Shotgun. Didn't do much for me. Then again, these supps are very subjective. What works for me is not necessarily going to work for you. So that's why I'm going to try everything out :)
