If you've got a Sai you're sorted with thick stuff!

Yeah! but I wanted to make something a little more discreet for times when I don't want to use the SAI.

I have both the bottom airflow SAI and the top airflow. Used to have all the coils, but at the moment have tripple titanium on black ceramic, miracle A, and obviously titanium bucket for the top airflow.

The only safe way to thin distillate is with terpenes, and even that isn't 100% ideal: https://greenrushdaily.com/health/t...ucts-can-produce-toxic-chemicals-study-finds/

Haven't been able to find any terpenes locally anyway.

I also add a tube with a hole in the side to the mouthpiece, which dilutes the thick vapor with fresh air. Works really well because you can take a nice comfortable full lung draw without overdoing it.

Interesting idea! where did you find the tube?

@mister: I just used some vinyl tubing from the hardware store as a rough prototype. Will come up with a more elegant solution some other time, but the concept works great. Have made similar mods on the Mighty and Sai:

The Mighty has 2x 2mm holes drilled in the mouthpiece and a piece of vinyl tybing that you can move up or down to adjust amount of air cooling. The Sai has a bit of 15mm copper tube inside a 45deg elbow with holes drilled through both. Twist the elbow on the tube to adjust airflow. Bottom of tube has kapton tape around it for a good fit in the TAF cap.

Nice pic! I'm not so sure I'd like a copper mouthpiece. I swapped out my Sai mouthpiece for the glass one.

I thought I'd hate it (since copper is pretty reactive), but after a bit of use it doesn't affect taste. It's just a prototype though; the plan is to machine a stainless steel version with both the air adjustment and 45deg angle. The latter is so it's more comfortable to hit while holding the bucket level.

I don't know what vape I am using but I also tried their distillate in an actual cart. I am pretty certain there is zero thc in it. I use it to dilute the last bit of my HV cart to make it last longer.

Lol I've been doing exactly the same thing. There's actually a fair bit of HV liquid at the end which becomes unvapeable because of how dry the ceramic becomes. I've noticed the HV doesn't seem to actually dilute into the Cannasutra vape liquid, it kind of just... co-exists.

Not gonna buy it again though. So far I haven't felt a thing from any of Cannasutra's goods and I've tried multiple times, and with sometimes silly amounts ingested. I know other people have had good experiences, so I guess I just have some freak immunity or something .

For the chaps using all these cartridges and other weird concentrates, why wouldn't you just use a dry herb vape and use good old bud? Cheaper and you know you actually getting weed and not something else. Also tastes way better, I can't stand the taste of dabs.

Cuz I can't sit in a cinema puffing on a stinking dry herb vape but I certainly can (could) with an HV cart.

It just isn't as good - at least to me. I reached a point in tolerance where dry herb - vaped or not - wasn't hitting the spot and had me coughing like crazy. HV carts are extremely portable and convenient. The Dynavape is the opposite of convenient with messing about with dry herb into the tiny compartment, listening for clicky sounds, overheating the herb and burning it, burning myself. I really grew to hate it. I have had other portable vapes that were better, but still not great. I've got a desktop vape which does a better job, but still a lot of messing about with dry herb. And I can't take a desktop vape to the beach. The idea of trying to use a dynavape at the beach with any degree of stealth or not seems absurd.

I don't need to maintain anything with vape cartridges. I don't have residues to clean up, I don't have a grinder to maintain, I don't have ground herb getting into my keyboard and everywhere else.

With dry herb I don't know that I'm not getting dodgy stuff any more than I do with a concentrate. The only way I'd be able to know for sure I was getting 100% safe herb without any pesticides or mold or anything is if I grew it myself. I can't be arsed to do that, at least in my current living situation. I either need to trust that the distillate I'm being sold doesn't have dangerous garbage in it or I need to trust that the dry bud I'm being sold doesn't have any dangerous garbage in it. It's much of a muchness to me.

I'm not convinced that the amount of dry herb I'd need to buy get the same results as a cart of HV would actually land up being much cheaper at all.

Taste is subjective. I've liked most of the carts I've tried - only the Super Cheese from HV was a disaster flavour. I've had disgusting-tasting dry herb as well.

So yeah. Each to their own. I think a while back I would also have been a herb purist and a part of me still kind of wishes I was.

The one plus the dry herb does have is when you want to kick back and enjoy thick, jammy flavours over a session. The HV is more of a quick puff and away it goes, not really a whole process/ritual which is part of the satisfaction.

Amongst all the drama, just wanted to say HV sent me another cart, out the blue I honestly didn't expect them to send a replacement, however they did. Funny thing is that this parcel had all the same documentation as the first parcel. Oh well.. Needless to say they still remain at the top of my list of suppliers...,

All fair points. If you think quality bud is going into those cartridges you would be mistaken, most likely trim and popcorn buds. Definitely not premium bud.

Also if you smoking good bud then you shouldn’t have a high tolerance, that only happens when you smoke kak bud. Each to their own though. But I’ll just leave this here, hehe.

I think the difference between carts and dry herb is quite substantial all round - and neither is better than the other, they serve different needs. I for one am thankful that we have the choice nowadays.

Liquids are very convenient for certain activities (movies, and other social events, as mentioned), but the effects are different than vaping or smoking dry herb (which themselves can have a fair amount of difference depending on vaporizer used and temp settings).

Another problem with dry herb (unless you grow and store your own) is quality can vary greatly from one batch to the next (even from the same supplier).

Dry herb, at least the way I vape it, is definitely much more cost effective, but at the same time it's a hassle with prepping and cleaning, etc. While the "ritual" of prepping dry herb cab be fun, it gets old after you've done it a couple of thousand times, at least it has for me.

I grow my own plants, and I also do my own extracts - using alcohol extraction or with my rosin press. I've made juices that were near pure cannabis (not quite as pure as HV carts, but close enough), and others diluted with PG/VG, sometimes with added flavouring (like a normal vape juice) which you can vape next to anyone and they will have no idea that you're vaping cannabis - these diluted juices are also quite mild and nice for micro-dosing all day long.

To me it comes down to situation. When I'm home I tend to favour dry herb in my PAX. When I'm out and about I tend to lean more towards the liquids.

I think if the extraction was easier, or the retail cost a bit lower, I'd use a lot more carts/liquids, purely because of the convenience factor (I'm lazy that way).

For me, one of the most limiting factors of the liquids is the relatively small selection of strains - I'm very particular about the strains I use, and most of our suppliers don't have my favourites (Green Crack, Northern Lights, Strawberry Cough)...so I end up having to grow them myself and make liquids, which is quite tedious, so I end up just vaping the flower.

Has anyone purchased from AmaDab? Ordered a sai atomiser over the weekend and I've heard nothing from them since
I've bought stuff from them twice, and never had issues. Good comms via whatsapp to sort courier arrangements. Would do business with them again...
