I still want to try baking my own. 420 suggested about 40g local skunk for 20 cookies but not sure if this enough / too much. I am properly stoned on 1 BGH cookie but I guess you cant compare as nobody knows the THC content of the BGH cookies.

Def try it, and you dont have to use the most amazing herb. You could actually go on half, or even 1/4 to try it out and down scale your cookie batch accordingly.

I smoke about 40g a month, so its a fare amount.

This is so true, there are simply too many strains I still want to try and I'm not going to grow every one. Looking at the dispensaries overseas they seem to stock over a hundred different strains at a slightly higher price than an old school dealer with a more limited supply.

I found the trick was to start with easy strains, Durban poison, swazi gold and such, then move to auto flowering any strain you desire and then move to hybrid or pure strains as the level of care and complexity increases with each strain. You can also start with cuttings of a mates plant as this negates the seeding phase which in itself can be a ball ache.

Keep notes and stick with what works for you. Ignore the blogs and overseas information as our climate and nutrients are very different.
Fail fast and fail forward, know what nutrient deficiency is and how to treat it. Know when to top and know to train to increase yield.

That seems like a ridiculously inefficient way to yield results from so much herb.

Completely is. I think baking in general is a waste. I can get the high I need off the smallest amount of bud, smoking is the most efficient.

I beg to differ, each of my plants is growing just over a kilo is 7 months from start to finish. I have a rotation of plants and also have just over a kilo is excess stock.

You are certainly allowed to differ I certainly didn't state it to be a fact. Your grow setup and yields sounds impressive but I would like to know how much do you spend on electricity. Seven months is a long time I'm guessing sativa? I still prefer outdoor overall although it has negatives but so does indoor especially pricewise and that is one of my main decision factors.

I've been blessed as I've never grown something that I didn't enjoy smoking. I really enjoy Swazi and most of my saplings this year are different varieties of Swazi. Unfortunately people judge it by what you buy on the streets but it's totally different when you grow it properly and cure it yourself. My other favourite is old school Kush. I have some hybrids between the two of which I'm in my third year now. I have too many plants at the moment which cuts down time I can spend per plant so next year I'm just harvesting the main colas for smoke and the rest for edibles. The best weed I've ever smoked was from when I was in the USA, here in SA hands down the dopest smoke I've ever smoked came from a grower in Woodstock called Sensi Star B so looking at growing that next year.

I find that the edibles give me a completely different high than smoking, I seem to laugh uncontrollably when eating whereas smoking I also laugh but not as "violently" as the edibles.

A mate came around with some of their stuff a week or so ago, I personally wasn't impressed with the visual appearance of the bud or the smell. It all smelled weedy and perhaps a bit moldy. It smoked ok, nothing to go mad about though. This was R40 and some R60 greenhouse btw.

Seems that my review a couple of pages ago wasn't far off. Glad you're enjoying them!

How did you find the quality of the goods?

The green goblin crumble looks good. Smoked some big buddha this morning - pretty good! I'm still stoned.

Did you get them pre rolled? I got the pre rolled ones but will only be able to sample them this weekend.

I'm going to get some BB pre-rolleds with my next order. Waiting for today's menu in case there's anything new on it. I'll report back.
