The Division

Today is the day! If I'm not mistaken, Beta should of opened up 11AM our time.

Anybody given it a bash yet? Super keen to check it out when I get home...

I have never played GTA V online and only clocked the game on Wednesday.

Is online worth it as I am planning on reinstalling my machine as well.
Need to know if it is on my list of games to reinstall along with MKX, SC2, etc.

Downloaded the 28 gig Beta, going to give it a shot, but I dont like what im seeing already.Enemies are bullet sponges like the creatures in Destiny.

A lot of people seem to echo your feelings.
I honestly have no issue with this, and actually prefer this system to a "one-shot-one-kill" type.

I have two major concerns after playing the Closed and Open Betas.
1) While they have said they are keeping some things secret regarding the end-game, I still don't know how well they will make this game last long after you hit level 30.
2) My interest in any RPG is hoarding loot. The loot in this game is largely based around realistic weaponry, and because of this I don't know how much loot there is to find. "Legendary" gear is clearly the best spec'd but it's just a unique skin on an existing weapon model (albeit REALLY nice), unlike a fantasy based game where the sky is the limit for a unique design.

That being said, I was sold enough to buy the game, as I invested a little over 30 hours across the 2 betas and still want more.

Was gonna say I'm big on lewt and endgame and so far I haven't seen there would be much of that. Ps.. How do I edit my posts when I reply to someone via quote of I'm d8ing it on my smartphone?

I'm looking forward to this game but I gather it's not really aimed at the single-player, although they mentioned that you can play as a single-player but not offline. Does that mean that you will need a PS Plus account before you will be able to play it?

My exp of this game. 3 of my friends attack one guy, turns around kill us all 3, inspect full best in slot, plus using hacks to increase his stats. Got best items in game of 9 hours of gameplay, sit at DZ camping killing people and 10+ people chase me. GG 10/10 will play again.

Aaaannnnndddd pre-ordered the Gold Edition (which includes the Season pass), expecting a good couple hundred hours out of this game over 'Year One'

These are my hopes too.
After Watchdogs I told myself I'd never just pre-order based on my hype again. I ordered the Gold Edition in Jan :D

After playing the Open and Closed Betas, I'm really looking forward to finally getting the full experience!

If anyone wants to add me on UPlay (for PC), I go as Phreeseed

Seeing the data mined patch notes and that year one plan has me impressed

Fixes and general improvements
Fixed glitches that could be exploited by players to gain an unfair advantage in the game (such as invisibility, shooting through walls, etc).
Extended server-side checks to detect any illegal actions from the game client, limit their impact in the game and track down the perpetrators.
Fixed an issue on character select screen that resulted in getting stuck with a specific combination of inputs
Fixed a progression blocking issue caused by accepting a group invite at a specific moment during the Base of Operations unlock sequence
Players will no longer return all the way back to start screen after creating or logging in to their Ubisoft Club account
Fixed remaining bugs that prevented log-in attempts when non-essential services were offline
Overall stability increased
Further backend improvements and optimizations
Localization adjustments and bug fixes
Additional minor bug fixes and polish

Feedback
During the alpha and the betas all the feedback that was given helped the developers to adjust The Division and improve the game on many fronts. After launch this stays the same: Give feedback, report bugs and exploits and do your part to improve the game. The best way to do it, is in the official Forum here.
Comments about balancing and the changes have to be placed in this or the future patch-notes posts, that will positioned when changes are communicated. Balancing request / discussions outside these posts will be removed.

Glad to see exploits being detected/implemented on launch, hopefully they stick with a weekly maintenance schedule and keep the game exploit free!

Ouch the prices on the game ... R2400 for the full edition for Xbox One ... :wtf:

That's for the Sleeper Agent (Collector's) Edition correct?

Yes

Tom Clancy's The Division releases today for South African gamers, and we highly recommend you grab the game as fast as you can. Yes, our recommendation is premature, as full reviews will only surface after launch day. However, we did command a team to enter the Dark Zone at every available opportunity - and they returned as hardcore fans of the game. (I have you know, it's no easy task to impress a seasoned game critic like our Zombie_Dredd.) The only issue we had was Mr Woods feeling #foreveralone; we hope you find him on your next visit to New York.

But before we talk about purchasing The Division - don't forget you can win an Xbox One, Collector's Edition and sexy game merchandise with Megarom and The Division.

Tom Clancy's The Division will release in three formats; Standard, Gold and Sleeper Agent. Some of the editions are only available at specific retailers. Herewith your SA price list for every edition and all platforms. If you're playing it safe and waiting for reviews before you buy the game, then bookmark this article. Please take note; all prices reflected as at the time of writing.

I personally couldn't justify the extra R900 over the Gold Edition (which I pre-ordered) for a Poster, Armband, Artbook and Watch :erm:

Still its R1500 for Gold , which is ridiculous for what is basically the must have version unless you want to buy the standard edition and end up spending more down the line for DLC so you can actually play all the content.

Looking online The Division retails at $60, with the Season Pass retails at $40 which works out to $100 ~ R1539.25 at the time of this post

At this point, I will be spending a lot of time on The Division and by pre-ordering I've saved R40 so far (depending on the exchange rate). I guess the same applies with the Sleeper Agent Edition looking at the exchange rates... R2400 local vs 180 EURO (R3000)

In my opinion, the bonus content: Poster+Artbook+Armband+Watch do not appeal to me for an extra R900

I won't lie, the temptation to buy the Sleeper Agent edition just for the watch crossed my mind more than once. But I couldn't find anything that gave away the manufacturer, so have held off.

As for the release, yea it seems physical disk owners got access to the game around 3pm yesterday, and most other platforms got access around 5am this morning.

It is seemingly a good thing that we didn't see the launch though, based on all the threads popping up on The Division reddit page.
Hopefully by the time I get home today, server stability has been improved.
