strange issue with my airremote.
If the remote is idle for anything more than 2-3 minutes the next time I press any button, the red light flickers for about 20 seconds (like it's trying to establish connection with the USB IR thingy).
It then works fine until it's idle again and then if I want to use it again, the same thing happens.
Any idea what's causing this?

How is the battery?

@silkman: I get ~3 months use out of a set of 2XAAA alkaline batteries on my T2 air mouse. Normal batteries like the Vinnics that came with it only last 1 month. I do use the remote a lot though. I just bought a new pack of 4XAAA Super Power alkalines from Checkers for R24.

EDIT: Best deal on AAAs currently seems to be on the DQuip 6 and 12 packs from Dischem ...

Thanks-didn't even think it's the batteries cos the unit works fine after the initial problem?

Just keep using it - if the batteries are dying it should stop working in the next week or two. My T2 doesn't give much notice that the batteries are about to fail. Do you have normal or alkaline batteries installed in the remote?

If those are the original batteries then you've had several months worth of use which is excellent. Alkaline batteries will last 3~4 times longer for a small price premium.

Thanks Yotch.

I'm glad it's just the batteries- but for my understanding why would failing batteries still power the light and then work normally? Does the unit go into a deep sleep mode when batteries are failing?
Love learning new things with my unit :)

@silkman: The unit could start acting very strangely when the battery voltage drops. It sounds as though the USB receiver and the keyboard are pairing each time it wakes up. If the batteries are going flat things should go downhill quickly. I am looking into getting some cheap rechargeable batteries for my T2 and will let you know if I find anything. In the meantime those R25 Dischem alkalines are a good buy.

I cannot get the Epg for live TV to work. All my settings and Web address is correct but the Epg doesn't display. I even see it updating when I open xbmc.

I use rechargeable batteries on my T2, and after more than 2 months, I haven't had to re-charge the batteries. Admittedly I only use it a few times a week.

@balky: Thanks for the feedback. What batteries/charger are you using?

@dm: It appears that the BBC has changed over to a completely new API and that add-on is no longer working. Pity I never tested it earlier.
