The Error Code 619 thread

My 619's disappeared after a reformat and re-installation of OS.
However it is possible that it my fix just happen to coincide with a fix in the network. :rolleyes: If all else fails re-install, apply 3G software and test. ;)
 
Error 619 is only a coverage and signal error. It wont have anything to do with re-formating or reloading.

Inside a building move close to open areas, or closer to windows. Alternatively try the external antenna's

It wont be any other problem expect that.

Anyone else having problems connecting in the JHB CBD?

I have been unsuccessful for 2 days now.
 
were u previously able to connect? and where in jhb are u trying? if no to prt 1 then check your provisioning wit sp if yes then move to another location (for testing pourposes not indefinatly lol) and see if error remains..........619 generally indicate network reception or sig probs
 
I have the same but its intermittant. I usually reboot and then it connects. I thought it was my new machine but it would now appear not to be. Once I connect I dont have a prob though. Will have to keep an eye on it for a couple of days.
 
Been connecting from here for months, a colleague (spelling) has the same issue. chatted to 155 - will see
 
Error 619 - relates to network problems as far as i am aware. Basic solution i picked up. Is to actualty change the Apn to alternate one. I tested this with the Internet apn got error 619. Changed over to InternetVpn working fine. Or the other way arround. Depends on the failure.

Recommend to first check the datacards firmware version and make sure it is updated to the latest version. Available on www.vodacom4me.co.za.

On the odd occassion i noticed that it is due to installation failure.
 
I had a few 619 errors lately which isn't a problem on my side but on the network. The last major continuous 619 error I had was when my account was disabled for non payment :o so I think the error pop ups when the authentication process fails, for whatever reason.

While attempting to connect error 619 occured - the port disconnected. Three options : try again; if problem persists try restart computer; contact computer support. Did try again, did restart computer, tried support - would probably still be holding on two hours and fourteen minutes later. Created and tried all profiles, but same error. At this point, I dont even mind if I get on line using GPRS (because 3G is not stable in my area) but nothing doing. Please anyone, help!!

Where are you located? KZN ? I got the same error the entire night [8 May] , although i am in Centurion [GPRS and 3G]. I suggest you get an MTN sim [R5
one, load up some airtime] and see if it happens as well, in my case MTN works fine . So some Voda tower not functioning properly [overloaded/congested?] or something, i will try again tonight.

I believe if your SIM isnt data enabled it gives the same error [so if its a new sim, check that too, i.e. phone helpdesk]
 
I think there's a problem with the sales consultant who helped me... thats what i think.

I hadn't been activated yesterday... but I'm still not able to go in today, and I am now active and my sim card is data enabled. This is really frustrating!

Not following you 100%....

If I read you correctly and it is a new SIM and they only actiated you now, it *might* just be that the data provisioning is still not right. Get 155 to re-activate the data on the card.

Yes, new sim - there was a problem with activation of the new contract. Got it to work early hours this morning finally, but been disconnecting a lot today. Seems though this is not just happening to me, and not only in my area. Thanks for the help thus far!
 
J,Im still using my exsisting sim from my 3g days.Also getting a lot of 619 errors..
And Im based in Benoni....

Started about 3 days ago..
