Have you tried here? http://3ginfo.ru/download72.html (site is Russian, so use Chrome to translate).

There is -601 firmware listed.

I know for Huawei E3276 modems, all firmware seems to work on any sub-model number, but B593 may be different.

After changing router or router configuration it helps to restart all client devices, as some devices can wrongly keep responding to the packets coming from outside, preventing others from receiving data stream. These are NAT layer 2/3 pitfals on LAN, not neccessary firmware bug. :)

Hi, yes restarted many times, the firmware that is working with SIP on the device is V200R001B270D00SP00C00 I can only find this on a chines site where you need to pay $ dollars and not sure if I trust. I have found another site for the original firmware V200R001B180D20SP00C00 and have re-flashed, problem persists. I have also found later firmware for the B593s-805 which seems to be of similar spec with two additional bands. Will try this today and post back.
 
Frequency bands - it is a hardware option. You can flash any B593-xxx, it will use any available frequency. Not sure about 's'.
 
Loaded V200R001B236D10SP00C00 - This version has no support for SIP at all, and the SIP menu was missing. Going to try and call the local Huawei number tomorrow to see if I can get a later version of the firmware
 
Telkom Mobile should be able to support us with the latest firmware version on this router! I have also been trying to search the net for the latest firmware without being fruitful... When you contact Huawei Directly on this specific router -601 variant you get diverted back to Telkom Mobile. .


Good Luck @Liquidskies on getting someone to help you at Huawei! We just want the latest firmware version updates to be loaded on their website.

What do mean exactly? Is the same as enabling SIP ALG on B683? I am posting this, as I hear that many consumer-grade routers (even major brands) have broken SIP ALG, which results the same symptoms of no incoming voice stream. Source: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Routers+SIP+ALG

The B593+WS322 package deal (R2 499) in the flyer I attached expired on 26 May 2014. Makro Silver Lakes still had the B593 in stock, but the list price had gone up from R2 299 to R2499. But - yeehaaa! - you're right, when I carried it off to the cashier it scanned at the promo price of R1 999. So it seems that our friend Azi is better informed than even some of the Makro sales staff.

Here's the best part : the Makro B593 devices - well, the ones in Silver Lakes, anyway - are indeed the (arguably) "best-fit" B593-s601 model.

Hi, as I thought it was a firmware issue, load version V200R001B270D00SP00C00 and everything works 100%.
 
Just got the B593s-601 from Makro woodmead. They have stocks. R1999. Hoping it works on all networks.

What firmware should I install? Stabel version. Link?
 
Hi Gents,

New to the world of mobile internet and am highly confused by all the different options. I have gathered some info and would like your opinion on a few things.

There is currently no LTE available in my area but would like to create a system that will run 3g but will be able to use LTE once avail.

I would like purchase the B593s-601 currently avail at Makro on special and then use antenna/s to boost the signal purely for online gaming so ping and consistency is very important.

Have had a look at pontyings site and given them a call and am still confused.

Considering I am going to use 3g and then use LTE once avail what would you guys recommend?

PBN-LPDA-0092-LTE = 2 X LPDA-0092-V2 mounted for MiMo LTE (using 1xBRKT-030) R2600 - prob the best option.

Alternatilvely I was told about another omni directional antenna for R1300 (If someone could advise me on model no that would be great, has 2 sma connectors to go into modem).

My questions is would these work both on 3g and 4g?
And how much better is the more expensive option?

The LPDA-0092 (two of them) are your best option without a doubt. Nothing can match these but they do require a specialised installation. They support all bands for 3G and LTE.

Next up I would recommend the LPDA-0020. I'm not 100% sure if this supports 3G as well, so just enquire and let us know? This model does support all networks for LTE though so is a good choice. I'd love to test this one myself.

You don't get omni and directional at the same time, it's one or the other. The omni you are referring to is the OMNI-0069. Again, you will need two of them for MIMO.

Thanks for the feedback Azimuth. Yeah the LPDA-0020 is the alternative I am looking at.

I am aware of the extra effort required to set up the LPDA0092 but sure I will manage or get some help.

I have checked Telkom Mobiles site for LTE coverage and my area is covered even though a option to select PE is not available. Still need to verify this today while im gathering facts. Otherwise I will just use 3g before it is rolled out.

There is a MTN tower about 2 to 2.5km away from my place and believe Telkom Mobile uses their towers for their signal, please correct me if I am wrong.

I fear they may be trees possible in the direct line if sight of the tower how would this affect signal and would it affect antenna choice?

Additionally the 0020(seems to support 3g from what I have read to confirm this morning) has a gain of 9dBi and the 0092 11dBI, I take this as being per antenna, so what difference would this make considering trees above?

Lastly Makro has the B593s-601 which will work on all networks, which one would Telkom provide? Will cost me about R300 more but I like the idea of going into Telkom store if they are any problems and them sorting the modem out( Have had a faulty modem from them before and it was replace with a new one in 10mins, SERVICE COUNTS:) )

However this would probably lock me to TM network with not having the option to jump networks should I not be happy with their service or data package prices. Is this correct?

Apologies for all the questions but need to ensure I get what is needed. Don't mind spending what is needed but don't want to waste cash on what is not needed.
