Looking for some help, I was trying to setup this router for a friend and I don't seem to be able to resolve the issue. Basically it always gives the error "Call in progress; cannot configure the router. Please try again after the call". I have reset the thing, tried with sim in, sim out, nothing seems to work and all the people discussing this error seem to be in foreign languages.
Any option on the admin panel just results in that error (including trying to upload firmware). With a sim in it does not find new firmware to install over HTTP.
Any ideas of what I can try?

See this post and the ones that follow for a few examples from people who've done (and still do) it.
That example refers to a 2-tier scheme, where one of the LAN ports on a B593 (which is at 192.168.2.1, in that example) is connected to the WAN port on a downstream router (which is at 192.168.2.2). In that scheme, the B593 is effectively used as an LTE modem, with the downstream router doing most of the routing.
Edit :While I'm at it, here's a sketch I once did of how that 2-tier scheme is arranged, either with or without DMZ enabled :
When not using DMZ with a scheme like that, you have to have 2 "levels" of port-forwarding : one at the B593, and another at the downstream router. This is a bit of a hassle, but do-able.
With DMZ enabled, it becomes somewhat simpler : putting the downstream router in the DMZ (192.168.2.2, in that same example) means that traffic arriving on the WAN side of the B593 will be forwarded to the designated DMZ host irrespective of source or destination port. That means only one level of port-forwarding (at the downstream router) to deal with.
Note that even with DMZ enabled, other (non-DMZ) devices connected the B593's LAN ports will still be under firewall protection, and inbound traffic to them will still be handled according to the B593's port-forwarding rules.
That's just weird!Tested this, didn't work for me. Tried DMZ, no data went to my Mikrotik. Decided to try individual ports, the same issue arises.

I can confirm that I see the same thing on my own B593s-601 : Cell C is there for sure where it weren't before! (sic. Say it out loud)
