It took me a while to get used to the size of my XR having come from an 8, but it is a great phone and great value compared to the XS. The battery life is just brilliant, easily reaching 10 hours screen on time if you are so inclined or a couple of days of light to normal use easily.

The screen took a lot of flack from people who hadn't seen it or are comparing it side by side to AMOLED or OLED screens, but it really is a nice clear crisp display and I couldn't be happier with it.

Compared to the 7, I love the size of the form factor, but the XR beats it hands down every other way if the larger size is not an issue.

edit: price wise both of those deals are decent imo
 
So ATV4 is on 13 now, iphone and ipad on 13.
I heard somewhere you could setup that when your alarm goes off in the morning, you can have the atv4 , tv power on and start an app on the apple tv?

Really up to you.

I am switching between my iPhone XS Max and Huawei P30 Pro weekly and sometimes dual carrying them. I simply cannot makeup my mind on which OS between Android and iOS is better, both complement each other, where one is weak the other is strong.

If you can, may be get an older iPhone and try it out e.g. a iPhone 7 Plus or something and see how you feel with it along side your Android or get an iPad Mini and see how you get on with iOS.

Very good deals all round.

I have an XR now and while I wasn’t going ga ga for the upgrade over my iPhone 6 when it happened for free the features are enough to not make me want to go back.

I’d take the XR over the 7’s any day.

Shortcuts you can fire up or power down the Apple TV at this point but I’ve not seen any further extension just yet.

Oh seems they’ve added more now with the last update.

But I don’t see a way of using your alarm going off as the trigger.

Automation screen seems to be gone from Shortcuts now so they must have found something evil in there. I set one up to do some actions when connecting to my WiFi.
 
Fiddled last night and got ATV to power on and open Apple TV app but that's it so far.
On reddit a user got his working playing CNN when his alarm goes off, also powers his TV and amp on as well via CEC.

Then he should be able to simply link you to his Shortcut....otherwise he is talking kark.

My Amp and TV fire up via CEC regardless, that's a physical connection between the two that relies on your TV+Amp+ATV and nothing external.

So got all working on CEC, TV + amp + atv4 all power ON and off with the ATV remote.
On iPhone created an alarm which showed up under Shortcuts, then added Open app on AppleTV (Dstv now)
Worked on sunday morning but this morning TV didnt come on BUT Amp and ATV4 where on and Dstv now app was open so i'm getting there.

Aaah so you have to rely on some dynamic magic for the alarm to show up in Shortcuts.

I don't see any alarms in mine.
 
Updated both my XS Max and Watch, and so far loving iOS 13 on the phone, I have had the Public Beta on my iPad Air 2 for a while but couldn’t wait to have this running officially on the phone itself, and so far very pleased, smoother and faster than 12.4.1. FaceID has definitely seen a boost

It installed sometime over y he might. Happiness so far. Just wish WhatsApp had a dark mode.

Curious what my XRs battery will be like since I’ll be living on dark mode

You know what, when they first brought out Animoji I thought it was retarded and I only ever fiddled with it a little bit when I got the FaceID phone.

But Memojis I actually find quite cool because you can use them across the board in all apps and it adds a little bit of personality.
 
Has anyone faced any major bugs on iOS 13? I get onto Twitter and see people complaining about WiFi and Bluetooth issues and yet I have neither, phone connected fine to my car and to both my home WiFi and office WiFi when I came in this morning.

Everything seems good..... *knocks on wood*
