Hey iPhophiles!

I was wondering if anyone could care to upload a screenshot of their Intelliscreen arrangement - spent a while dicking about with it last night and couldn't find anything that didn't make it look like I was running Winmobile *spit*.

....the main reason I don't use it!!!!!

Yep, the iphone is the gateway drug... too late for you I'm afraid ;)

dunno

can't see myself giving up my xp home theater for a mac

i'll admit I've thought about it..., but even the latest mac mini, dvd drive only, not blu ray... that's the first hiccup i guess...

Like I said... it's too late for Kingrob some are still to able resist the urge ;)

I use a Quadcore Vista/Linux system but still love my macbook, even though I know spending R16000 on the new Macbook could be better spent I just can't resist I'm afraid... I'm hooked.

well, they're more or less expected to bring out those features now that 3rd party apps are available for it, else customers will lose their confidence in apple.
suppose it's more or less apple trying to keep new consumers from jailbreaking their phones?
either way, i'd rather have apple sort me out for tethering/mms than a 3rd party app which might be buggy or require payment =)

MMS and Tethering? Are they serious? It's both available via 3rd party apps and they're making a big deal about it? Why not give us something we can use like a proper GPS app?

I bought Motion X GPS in the app store for $2.99 and it's cool.

Will have to get a car charger, cos it chows your battery juice.

I get the idea people with Iphones haven't used GPS apps on other devices before, cause the best ones on the Iphone doesn't come close to the worst ones on other cellphones.

Maybe not blu ray, but then again, I've got such a huge dvd collection, to replace all of that with blu ray is going to cost an arm and a leg.

I have the previous edition (all white) 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac with the 24" monitor and Harman Kardon Soundsticks - can't really get better than that other than a real home theatre system set up in a lounge - which I tend to use less and less because kids run Wii and PS on it all the time.

I still have a Vista computer as well, can't really get used to the functionality of Office and keyboard components on the Mac, but it's ok when I use it for photo editing, video editing and drawing on the Wacom tablet.

One tends to learn all the shortcuts eventually. I had to learn Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack Pro on the Mac, so I know those keyboard commands fairly well. What I find is a struggle is to use the mouse - I'm not sure how to explain it - the mouse needs to move the exact same size as the monitor on the desk?? Does that make sense? Especially on the Wacom, if you need to point to the top left hand corner, you need to position the stylus on the top left hand corner of the tablet as well. Sometimes my hand goes all over the desk when I drag things around, it's not easy to get used to.

I've got a Nokia Navigator 6210 that I can use as a GPS device.

But I know my way round Cape Town. ;)

Get a mouse with a higher DPI, I have a 4000DPI mouse and it requires so little effort that I have to turn down the DPI. (razer Lachesis)

If you're using a high resolution then get a moue with a high DPI.

On March 17th we'll get a preview of iPhone OS 3.0...
We just got the announcement, iPhone OS 3.0 is coming. Set your clocks, mark your calendars. It's going down March 17th. Apparently, we'll get a sneak peak at the new OS, as well as a look at a brand new version of the SDK. Exciting stuff indeed, and we'll be there live at 10am PST (1pm EST) with the liveblog. Apple's calling this an "advance preview of what we're building," so we're not expecting anything ready to go as of the 17th, but hopefully this will allow developers to start building toward future functionality (hey, how about some push notifications?), and presumably users won't have too many months to wait after that for the real deal.

So we'll see if all those rumors of MMS and bluetooth are true.

they made first generation iphone users pay for os2.0, you'll likely have to pay for 3.0....

blu ray drive reads dvd's, dvd drive doesn't read blu ray

you don't have to replace your blu ray collection, you just buy blu ray in future in stead... backwards compatibility it's called....

Nope, only iTouch users paid.

Correct. The argument was the support for the iPhone (i.e. software updates) was covered by the recurring revenue stream from your cell contract, where the iTouch was a once of purchase. You can however with a little googling get those for free.

I think Apple was rather stupid to charge for it anyway, if your iTouch users are up to date they will have a better chance of being able to use the latest hot item from the appstore (which is once again money in Apple's pocket).

I bought it when this discussion started, just can't get it to work

I spoke to developer. He told me channel ids changed. Delete the application from iTunes and delete it from your phone then re-download it from app store. . This will not charge you.

It worked for me.
