FINALLY! I got OS3 on my iPhone. :)

First impressions :

1. The startup screen looks a bit retarded now. Gives you the apple logo, then a blank screen and goes immediately into lock screen mode. Was much better on 2.2.1

2. Voice recording works + landscape, etc, etc.

3. Got MMS working!! I inserted the Swirley MMS settings and sent an MMS to my brother. Soon after that I got a welcome message from Vodacom MMS and I could see the pic my brother sent me.

4. Shutdown takes much longer now....guess I must just keep the phone on. :)

But a very happy camper now.

Try tethering as well and lemme know :)

OK - I'm trying to get tethering to work, but can't figure it out (and Morkhans zip that you linked to only contains logo files???) (which I can't get to work, because itunes is lloking for ipsw files, not ipcc?)

guys, don't fiddle with ipcc's, mms works without applying any ipcc, just complete the mms settings under settings -> general -> network -> cellular data network
turn phone off and on

and you're good to go

once you've applied any ipcc, you'll have to restore your phone and not restore any backup to get it to work again

is anyone else having issues activating their phones right now? apple activation server down???

cant they just apply the default ipcc?

Have rebooted a few times, changed ports. The actual hone just has teh emergency number thing in different languages.

Have you tried the obvious rebooting phone, changing USB ports, unplugging other USB devices, rebooting PC, restarting iTunes etc?

Goto Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network

Now you'll see the internet APNs...scroll to the bottom for MMS settings.

Insert the following into the emtpy fields :

MMSC: mmsc.vodacom4me.co.za
Proxy: 196.006.128.013:8080
APN: mms.vodacom.net

I inserted the settings, switched the phone off and on again.

Then I sent a MMS to my brother and got a welcome message from Vodacom MMS centre.

My brother sent me one back and I COULD VIEW IT! :D
