Sorry, has this been discussed somewhere? Maybe I missed it, if you can be so kind as to direct me?

Read his post:
Rather than changing the APN, call vodacom customer care and have them enable the iPhone APN on your contract, otherwise you'll always have issues when there's carrier settings upgrades or if you restore

Hello Fxit-Man :) Long time no speak :) :) So I have finally got my Iphone 4 :) Its amazing!! I got my hello kitty wall paper on and it looks snazzy! I have a bumper, it came with the phone from Vodacom - but its not the real thing, but, its ok, its not too tight - might go as far as to say its kinda loose, but it will protect it nicely! I only need the front / back screen protectors in matte.

But now I have a question please fxit man :) I have a wireless modem, so when Im at home I can use my wireless to dowload apps and stuff and go on fb and stuff, but now I want to know, will the iPhone automaticaly use the wireless or will it still come from my airtime (i have prepaid)? Like when I want to go on the internet, the wifi signal is on the phone, but I want to use my wireless and not my money from prepaid.

Thank you for your time to reply :) :)

Not fxit_man but maybe I can answer. A wireless modem - do you mean a wifi router connected to ADSL or some other service? On your iPhone if you see the WiFi symbol on your phone then it is browsing / downloading etc. over your home wifi network only if you see 3G/E/dot then it will be using the cell data network. It won't use the cell data if it can use Wifi as the 1st option. If you are really paranoid and want to be 100% sure you could always go into iPhone Settings, General, Network and turn off Cellular Data then it can't use it.

Hello MikeCTZA,

Ah, you have helped me alot. Thank you :) Yes, I have a wireless modem to which i connect to the inernet with from my laptop. The iPhone was so smart, it automatically detected it :) :) So I didnt have to set up anything. Ok, I have disabled Cellular Data now, so now i can be safe.

Many thanks for your reply!!

Hahaha! Glad you are enjoying the phone :) post some screenshots for the ladies ;) haha

Yes, long time indeed. Glad to see Mike sorted you out ;) welcome to the iPhone 4 club!

If you are connected to Wifi with the wireless signal on top, it will definitely use your Wifi for internet. So not to worry about that. No need to keep disabling your cellular data :)

It'll always use wifi if it's available. And if the wireless is up but ADSL is down for some reason, it won't be able to connect - i.e. it won't automatically switch to 3G/cellular data until you disable wireless or fix your ADSL.

Hello Fxit-man :) Hey Postman Pot!! Good to see you guys are still around!! Thanks pp, that is very useful to know :) I will definately post some screens - just have to play a bit and figure out how to lol!!

Whatsapp dudette! Plesh! :) Have a nice day!

Glad you got sorted out. Yes, as fxit_man said - there is no reason at all to keep disabling cell data. I only suggested it for you to do that in the 1st instance just for piece of mind. I never disable it, not even when I was overseas (only had SMS Roaming on so was safe as I knew it wasn't gonna use any data anyway). And as PostmanPot said - the only time it will not use the ADSL is if your wifi is off on the router, if the wifi is up but say the ISP side is down you will just get errors on the device; it won't swap back to cell data in those cases.

That's looking sick Shanil! Glad you got it and everything's in order :)

Don't forget to take off the plastic protector on the rear camera lens and also on the inside of the camera lens :)

lol @ the jersey too :p

It is indeed :)
Ive taken off the rear camera lens protector, on the inner of the plate there was just one long plastic to pull off?
Also, do you keep the backplate plastic protector (like what came on it but with the camera holes cut-off?)

Haha.. Tought the gersey would make a good colour combination :p

Yeah the inside is just one piece afaik. I took my rear plastic off hey, up to you though, as long as it doesn't affect your flash/picture.

Yeah the white contrasted against the yellow looks very nice :)

Please will someone tell me how to get whatsapp on my iphone 4? i keep getting asked to give in my credit card details? whether i go directly to the whatsapp site or itunes? thanks

The whatsapp site will redirect you to iTunes..
Whatsapp is unfortunatly not free, its $0.99..
Need an iTunes voucher and get it from the US store
or buy it with your SA Credit Card from the Kenyan Store (See Below)

Quick question, if i jailbreak my iPad will i lose any current apps and the current progress in the games i have??

So I did a juggling act with my iPhone again yesterday after my daughter grabbed my arm while I was trying to save a contacts details. Thing is when my precious (not my daughter) is in danger I perform extreme acrobatics trying to avoid the inevitable drop only exasperating the problem.

Once again this Cyganett pouch has saved my a55!!!

Only damage was to my heart rate and my scolded daughters ego... :p
