I'm getting mine back tomorrow morning, haven't had it for over 3 weeks now. (Using it as a demo phone)

First thing i'll be doing is upgrading to 1.1.4 then drum kit obviously Looks like a mean application to have!! Any clue when v2 of the firmware will be released? I heard somewhere that there won't be any v1. anymore. Is this true?

It will be released in June and will be 1.2.0 and not 2.0.0

haha i <3 it what can i say... just wanted to share my love for it with u guys as well

afaik, the firmware is called 1.2 in beta phase and will be released as 2.0 to the public at the end of june..

Some new features include:

- the App Store - where you can purchase apps or download free apps made with the SDK recently released

- parental control features for use with iTunes, Safari etc

- Microsoft Exchange Server support for email

and more..check the vid i posted for a sneak preview.. i think the biggest thing to look forward to is the App Store

Flash on The iPhone. It's NOT coming. Well at least not from Adobe by themselves

So Adobe is backpedaling from their previous statement regarding the development of flash on the iPhone by Adobe. It now appears that Adobe will not be able to develop the iPhone flash themselves as they previously claimed. If flash is coming to the iPhone Adobe is going to need the help of Apple.

If you remember a couple days ago Adobe announced that "We have evaluated (the software developer tools) and we think we can develop an iPhone Flash player ourselves."

Turns out they spoke too soon. Adobe has come out with a follow up stating:

Fix "Call failed" error on Vodacom:

I used to have the same problem with my N95. What sorted my problem out was doing a sim swap from a 32k sim card to a 64k sim card. Very weird - but I can now make calls on the 64k sim card with no hassles...

Just got back from the Vodashop...and....IT WORKED!!
I am very happy that this issue is finally resolved...SIM swap was instant and only cost R60. I dont even get a call failure message at all anymore! I hope this helped some members on this board who have had the same irritating problem with their iphones

Seen plenty of posts from people who seem to be trying to get the above combination to work on the MMS deficiernt iPhone.

Has anybody actually got it working on MTN? I have tried all the settings including varioations therof, and get a proxt connection error. AM using the below:

MMSC: http://mms.mtn.co.za/mms/wapenc
Proxy: 196.11.240.241:9201
APN: myMTN
Username: mtnmms
Password: mtnmms

iPhone MMS on MTN working!

Right, so after a bit of fiddling I finally have MMS working on my phone on MTN

I used an application called Swirlymms (new version 0.3.6) and used the following settings for MTN which were an amalgamation of a few other threads....

MMSC: http://mms.mtn.co.za/mms/wapenc
Proxy: 196.11.240.241:8080
APN: myMTN
Username: mtnmms
Password: mtnmms

Ps: you need to have Mobile Finder installed to browse to the directory the MMS get stored in and the Mobile Finder plugin Mobile Preview to view the attachments. (THis is explained in the Swirlymms app)

It doens't load up on 1.1.4 for some STRANGE reason. 1.1.2 was working fine. That by far, is a million times better than drummer Only played around with it for a day.

Let me know if you come right with it, i'd like to get it up and running again.

ya, its called "beatphone" or something like that... i tried installing it last night and when i tapped on it to open it, the screen comes up all blurry for a second and then the phone goes back to that "slide to unlock" screen. weird. also on 1.1.4, havent tried it on any other firmware so i cant confirm that its only 1.1.4

anyway, i found 2 other cool apps on installer.

tunewiki - its kinda like the ipod player app except that it finds the lyrics for the songs you're currently listening to and the lyrics are sync'ed with the music so it scrolls as the song goes...

mobile chat - allows you to log in and chat on msn and all sorts of other instant messaging accounts... rad =)

also, check out "cydia". its also listed in installer, and is pretty much the same thing. cydia is an installer app that uses a repository system thats a bit older and more mature (according to modmyifone) and has some of the same packages as installer but also some that arent listed there...

just thought i'd share my findings =)
