Quick question for the gurus: are there currently any iPhone firmwares or versions (UK particularly) which are not unlockable to all SA networks?
All firmwares are unlockable now including the future 1.2.0 (version 2)
The future unlock will be called "Pwnage" and released by the real dev team.
Lovely stuff, thanks!
...and Ziphone is the app du'jour for unlocking still?
That mobile chat app takes for ages to connect. Have u ever managed to connect with MSN?
Doesn't work with meWhat firmware you running?
Apparently Apple built in a native screenshot function in the iPhone, but it is not yet activated. Some clever guys figured it out and you can now activate and use it - see http://www.tuaw.com/2008/03/18/ripdev-discovers-how-to-activate-iphone-screen-shots/for more info.
Basically you just hold the home button and flip the mute switch - takes a screenshot and stores it in your camera roll. Some people complain about image quality, but mine shows up perfectly as if I am looking at the original screen.
It works much nicer as the other screenshot apps I have tried![]()
The Pwnage video presentation features the following:
- Pwnage Tool (Currently only for Mac 10.4.x or 10.5.x). The Pwnage Tool is an application that automates and simplifies the new method of "Pwning" an iPhone.
- iPwner - this part of the tool will actually start the Pwning process
- Pwning process patches iPhone bootloader allowing you to circumvent code signing checks
- Build and restore with custom firmware!
- Custom firmware feature Jailbreak, Activation, BootNeuter, Unlock, Custom Logos, and Additional Software
- Custom firmware can be restored on "Pwned" iPhone straight from iTunes
- As part of the custom firmware you will get the BootNeuter solution, the ultimate unlocking tool. Features use of the 3.9, 4.6 and 3.9fb Bootloaders.
- Works with 1.2 Firmware (2.0 Beta)
- iPod touch and Window support coming soon!
Cracks is a screen cracking simulation for your iPod/iPhone made by iamcanaian. The point of this application is to scare someone into thinking that they broke the device. Trust me it works! When you launch the application, it will show a screen shot of a 1.1.3/1.1.4 springboard (it even has a few extra pages). Tap on the screen and BOOM!, your iPod/iPhone will look like the screen got cracked really really badly. Then if you tap on it again the screen will start to flicker insanely.
