Please explain what you did? :(

I downloaded the ipcc files in the first post of this thread - did the change to my itunes via terminal (Mac) as explained by Fxit earlier in this thread and uploaded the ipcc file I wanted (the one with the vodacom logo) and rebooted the phone.
Then activate MMS in message settings and enable tethering in settings too (its somewhere there can't remember which option)

I am constantly getting the that the iPhone activation server is temporary unavailable.
Anyone else getting this.....

Please read before posting Q's like this..

for everyone else about to ask the same question:

THE ACTIVATION SERVERS ARE OVERLOADED. Either wait till the load dies down or keep trying

hey all - just called vodacoms technical support (082 155); tethering isnt available yet because vodacom must still test it out before they can release it as being supported (according to the tech guy)

Guys, just have to share this.....

I'm trying to help a friend of mine in the States to get her MMS to work on AT&T, but then she sent me this message :

It is with the .ipcc file :)

It needs nothing to change/implement Vodacom side, just needs to be enabled iPhone client side

With firmware updates usually the carrier settings are included which dictate whether to enable/disable stuff like this. But by using the .ipcc we create our own carrier settings which tell the phone what and what not to do :) Don't need no Vodacom!

If I load this ipcc fix will it cause problems when updating in future?

I dont know I am lost with this tethering, dont get the post that FXIT posted.
How does one enable the IPCC ion the latest Itunes?

Hmm maybe I wasn't too clear..

Follow the end bit of this post here to enable .ipcc support in the latest version of iTunes.

Once you have done that, to apply the .ipcc, shift + update (the same way you would a firmware file) or alt (option) + update in mac and it will ask you to browse for a .ipsw (firmware) file. In the drop down box change it to browse for a .ipcc file.

Select the .ipcc file and it will apply it

I wouldn't think so, but I don't have a 3G so I have no use for them anyways.

You could just restore the default .ipcc with a restore in iTunes though anyways so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just backup your phone in iTunes so you have a backup in case you ever had to do that.

Hey,

Uploaded the IPCC files, the tethering bit comes up on the iphone and appears ready to go, but when I connect to my laptop, it says "No internet access"; I'm using windows 7.

Any ideas?

M
