LOL!! Same story happened to me....

If you look into the ear phone hole and the charging whole on the iPhone - you will notice there is white 'paper'... The minute it gets exposed to water, they turn pink/red... Pink - voided warranty...

So the paper did not work out so nicely - a friend made it from fibreglass for me - it even fits with the iPhone case on.

sorry for the bad second photo but it was a ****ty nokia that took the pic

Nice. I tried the paper one but I didn't have the right gram stock so as expected it didn't work out.
Your friend should make and market the stands and make a bit of money out of it.

iPhone suddenly draining battery very fast - 20% overnight after a charge from the USB power adapter and after I installed biteSMS, iPhoneDelivery and the SBSettings upgrade. I have a feeling its SBSettings - anyone else having hassels after the SBSettings upgrade.

Battery back to normal - drained 0% overnight - uninstalled iphonedelivery and biteSMS but I think it was Notifications that was set to on that caused it.

I did a full battery charge on 3.1 JB. Removed off charge 8am monday morning. As of right now i have 65% battery. Wifi was on the entire day yesterday, altho not connected to any wireless network, but the function to search for wireless networks was on. I have iPhonedelivery and bitesms installed. I dnt use push tho.

yeah i see that.
anyway i managed to get it working again, dried it out all night in a ziploc with silica granules, blow dried with the gf's hairdryer for a few minutes this morning and everything seems to be fine!

Time to look for a waterproof case.......:erm:

Saw it this weekend for R5799 cash..

I've got one and I'm thinking about selling it for R4000, would that be unreasonable?

Could someone please assist me in setting up the tethering function on my computer?

I have got OS3.1 installed, MMS is working and I've switched on the tethering function in options?

Do I need to install software on my notebook to get tethering working? (XP)

You need iTunes installed - should then just be plug and play :D

Don't play with it in the toilet should also work fine.

I bought a 16GB 3GS on bidorbuy for R4.5k, less than a month old (22/8/2009 purchase date)...:D:)

My 1st experience with iPhone, safe to say I am an ex Nokia fanboi now...

iPhone interface and OS is just so refreshing in relation to Nokia's Symbian.

Everything works, the virtual K/B is the most responsive and accurate I've ever experienced and when one does get it wrong the auto correct function does the trick 90% of the time, it's bloody marvelous!!!

Wifi sync effortless, yahoo and skype apps loaded and functioning effortlessly, email sync to gmail and yahoo account functioning effortlessly, mms, sms etc etc etc what a wonderful device!!!!

Installed a few arbitre 3rd party apps like dstv guide, news24, times, yahoo, skype and they all perform as they were designed to.

I never seen so many 3rd party apps written for a device before, I think I'll enjoy the iPhone the way it's inventors intended it to be enjoyed and then delve into the lovely world of 3rd party apps...

What i don't like, very little... battery life isn't particularly good but then I can't put the thing down so that might explain that. SMS character counter is a must for me as is delivery report. Wish that was standard, will have to get the SMS app...

So what's your update now with Push Notifications off? I always have push on....

I have not got any push apps but the notifications was on - so I think that was the hassel - battery now on 93% after a full charge on USB port early yesterday evening - syncing etc to my iMac. Have had 3G on - WiFi on permanently so I am happy again. Don't really need SMS receive notifications and biteSMS not worth buying for my use.

Arghh, ok so this is the second time this has happened to me...

Before installing itunes:

Iphone connected to my PC, everything worked fine...

After installing itunes:

I connected the phone, all the drivers were discovered and during the "Found digital still camera" part windows crash into a blue screen...

After rebooting windows I had to check for a disc inconsistency...

The exact same thing has happened to me in the past, I had a solution which solved the problem but caused major other problems....

Anyone else ever experienced this and if so any solutions?

Setup:
iphone 3G 8GB
Firmware: 3.1
OS: Windows XP
Itunes 9(But the first time it happened I used a previous version)

Any help would be appreciated.
