Thanks. Sucks you can only have one Exchange account set up at a time though :/
It does, can't believe IMAP IDLE wasn't implemented with Gmail on the iPhone
p.s. works nicely

Reckon it could come in a future update?
p.s. go grab tomtom v1.1![]()
Great. Loving the push GMail now.. Never really used my GMail account on my iPhone before.. Figured why not now
Battery life was already pretty poor I must say... Even before push was enabled for Ping and other apps.
But oh well..
Isn't there push email functionality straight on the iPhone OS?
On mine I just added in my gmail account and enabled push.
Yes, but not for Gmail.
The default IMAP implementation of Gmail is fetch-only. That's why we have to use ActiveSync until IMAP IDLE is enabled for Gmail by Apple.
So if I understand correctly you are saying that I can put in my account on my iPhone and enable push email, but it still wont work properly?
Fuggin iPhone!!!
I got a girl (HOT) trying to send me an MMS (a REAL nice MMS) (She's on MTN) and I'm not getting it..
I can send and receive MMS from Vodacom to Vodacom ever since installing the setting on Pg1. but this not being able to receive from MTN is pissing me off RIGHT now..

Got a hot and probably clotheless gal trying to send me an MMS and I can't receive it..
MMS has been round for 6 years yet the iPhone cannot do it..
Stuffing hell
I am confused now. I have had REAL push mail for GMAIL on my iPhone for bout 2 months now. Gmail had a article bout it and Marc Forrest released it on his BLOG. Best feature as far as I know. I was ging to get a BB just for he freaking push mail but no more.
It must be Vodacom cause I am on MTN & sending mms recieving works like a charm. I still cankot get a delivery report on my mms mesagesiPhonedelevery from Cydia does not support mms it seems
Deleted and reinstalled, same problem. Maybe there's an issue with Tom Tom 1.0 and 3.1.2? Anyone else got it working?
Just tried GPush but it didn't seem to work first time..
Think you can only use it for one account at a time though also.. Not sure.
Anyone got it working?
EDIT: Just got MailNotifier. Also doesn't seem to work?
Actually push is now enabled for gmail, when you setup an account for calendar and contacts sync, you can now also select mail, started about two months ago.
But I hate my battery life on push functionality so I do it old school, fetch every hour
The iPhone doesn't support Push for GMail yet as MobileMe does... You are probably confused with Google Sync. This is setting up a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Protocol. This works well. OR you can use an app such as GPush (there are another 2 I think) that will push notifications to your mobile every time you receive an email in your Inbox. I use GPush as I notice that I get notified earlier than the ActiveSync setup...
