My iPhone 3G for the last 2 days has had HORRIBLE signal..

People complaining they can't hear me.. i haven't been able to hear the people I'm talking to

SMS's not going through that I've sent and me not receiving or receiving late..

Then last night I was on a call, the line dropped.. I look at the screen it says no service.. I turn 3G on.. still no service.. 3G off no service.. I restarted the phone, still no service..

Eventually 15 mins later I see Vodacom there again with full signal..

Then 10 mins ago.. I receive a call, the signal is bad then the line drops.. I look at the screen, says NO SERVICE..

Now its just says searching..

IS MY iPHONE DEADED??

What do I do? Who do I call? Where do I take it?

I had a similar issue, I tried a restore but still got the no signal but it sorted itself out later.

Thanks..

I will try call that from my cell if I ever get signal again otherwise I will need to find a number to dial from a landline

Been finding VC network a bit dodgy these last few days - am working on a 3g modem so its not iPhone related.

Im hoping maybe its not my phone and just the VC then..

But I'm sitting here in my office with phone saying SEARCHING but my office colleague's phone (nokia) has full signal and no issues with calling

Same as me(as mentioned earlier), the iphone just worked again later and have not had the issue since then.

Thanks! Forgot about this. Was looking for it when it was released but it wasn't "out" that soon ;)

EDIT: Works awesome! For a guide on how to install the .deb file, see the front page ;) (easier method)

Hi guys, Which week/batch of iPhones should I watch out for, for the ones that can not be jailbroken?

thanks

hey all

sorry for the long silence, busy settling in in seattle....

just a quick note for all you battery usage watchers

the biggest killer (in my opinion) of iphone battery, is poor cellular network configuration

since i've been on at&t in the states with my iphone, battery life has been 80-90% longer.... and i've been calling quite a bit, use it as my business phone

This is interesting, it just goes to show how we always end up with shoddy service in this country - have you got an internet connection yet besides the iPhone.

Anyone know how to get the JSE stock shares onto the iphone stocks app, the one that comes standard? All I get when I search is some "pinksheets" stock, but its not the same codes as our local JSE codes.

I need this too

Download Bloomberg for FREE from AppStore. Select SJ stocks...

The iPhone stock app sources its stocks from Yahoo Finance which doesn't have the JSE.

Bloomberg is a much better app.
