Three key points that have not been highlighted in the corporate media:

* It was the Israelis who broke the truce, as the Israeli peace movement Gush Shalom points out.
* The rocket attacks from Gaza onto Israeli territory have not killed or injured a single Israeli, reports Ali Abunimah, co-founder of Electronic Intifada.
* Gaza has been under a terrible and suffocating Israeli siege, which has caused immense suffering among the entire 1.5 million population. “Israel has not only banned food and medicine to sustain Palestinian bodies in Gaza but it is also intent on starving minds: due to the blockade, there is not even ink, paper and glue to print textbooks for schoolchildren,” says Ali Abunimah. It is vicious collective punishment

Hmmm, this credible news source disagrees with you...

Four Israelis -- one soldier and three civilians -- have been killed in the ongoing rocket strikes, Israeli officials said.

so much for the veracity of your sources!

Bah! I can't read any more propaganda tonight.

I think Palestine should suck it in. Say they're sorry and maybe they'll survive. Maybe. Good night.

SA: Israeli action unacceptable

very rich coming from a government doing absolutely ****-all about zimbabwe...

Johannesburg - The escalation of Israeli military violence in Gaza is unacceptable and must stop immediately, the South African government said on Sunday.

"The South African government unequivocally and in the strongest possible terms condemns the escalation of violence on the part of Israel brought about by the launching last night of a ground invasion into Gaza," read a statement issued by the foreign affairs department.

"The resultant loss of life and continuing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is unacceptable."

It called on the Israeli government to stop the military onslaught in Gaza and immediately and unconditionally withdraw troops from the area. More lives would be lost if the violence was not stopped, it said.

"The Gaza Strip is recognised as one of the most densely populated areas in the world and the Israeli land offensive, involving the use of armoured vehicles and heavily-armed troops, with the close support of artillery and helicopter gunships, will inevitably lead to an even larger loss of civilian life, which will have an impact throughout the region for years to come."

Medical facilities in Gaza already could not cope with the number of people injured from air strikes, the government said.

"They will clearly be unable to deal with the increased number of casualties as a result of the land invasion."

South Africa said it called on the United Nations to stand together in condemning the escalation of violence on the part of Israel. The international community should use whatever means possible to stop the violence.

"The South African government calls on all parties to resume negotiations as soon as possible."

In total, more than 485 Palestinians have died since Israel began its offensive in Gaza on December 27, Agence France-Presse reported on Sunday.

There's a few bold texts for you here which stand out from the rest and have not been addressed by you or any of your buddies.

Wow, i am appalled.

You guys must really have and emotional black hole. SA condeming the loss of life in Gaza and you look at their past decisions.

Very interesting SA can draw parallels with Gaza and hence are probably the best people to comment.

Guys your replies show a lack of caring for human life. Wonder if you would feel the same if it were you and ur family.

Well, there's more than a few terrorist sympathizers in the SA government so one cannot really say that this was that unexpected.

Its amazing what people will resort to when oppressed enough.
