The Foreverrun 2 also looks good. Only problem is that one reviewer said they are even narrower than the first version. Which might be pushing it for me as the V1 is very snug.

How many km did the Velocity Nitro 3s end up giving you. Need to errr... plan... how many I need to order in the next sale. ;)

At 240 km my Velocity 2s are showing slight wear in that spot on my left shoe. The right shoe has wear on the back of the right side heel. Interestingly enough the size 8 which I use for faster runs is also showing the same wear in those spots at 140 km, just slightly less so.

I've only put in around 60 km in my VN 3 and Foreverrun respectively. Must say that I didn't like the Foreverrun all that much, but it is slowly growing on me.

Yeah, the Black Friday selection wasn't the greatest. Still kicking myself that I didn't give the MagMax a try too. I'm sure they'll have other sales soon.

The magmax shoe is so huge it looks ridiculous when you put a pair of velocity's next to it.

How much mileage do you guys get from a pair of shoes? According to Garmin these are 3km past live but they still seem fine...

I don't pay much attention to that. Had well over 2000k's on my one pair before I eventually pensioned it off. And that only because the thing was so worn I was starting to slip

Guess it's for more serious runners

As far as I recall you set the km on gear, not sure if it defaults when you don't, but any mildly decent pair of shoes should exceed that, I think I do around 1000km on my mrp elite marathon runners

Not sure, it's my 3rd set of shoes I've used it and that was the default, I know you can adjust it but never have.

But yeah, 1000kms sounds a lot more reasonable.

IMHO, I wouldn't look too much into that, I think it's a gimmick actually. What would it mean if the shoes are running lekker and they are on 2000km, or inversely, they are on 500km and suddenly causing some niggles..

Gauge the shoes lifespan by the comfort and feeling on your feet/legs.

I only track shoe mileage with strava and not garmin.
Strava usually send me a mail @600km, then another at 800kms and sometimes at 1000kms.
 
I tossed out all my running shoes with over 900 km on them. My closets looks so empty now🤣

This morning, a dumpster diver found 19 pairs of running shoes. He looked like he'd just won the lottery!

I bet he's now the fastest man on the block with a whole new fleet of footwear.

When I am done running with mine it's only cause I can feel it in my legs, but the shoes themselves are still not bad, so they become shoes for around the house, like garden work or when I need something for odd jobs over a weekend, climbing in the roof, on the roof etc
 
Anyone doing the 21 on Saturday at Tuks? Im trying to figure out what the route would look like

Wonder if he was the same shoe size? That would definitely have made his day.
 
Depending on brands, 600-800km then the bin. It becomes cheaper to replace shoes than visits to the physio and days that I cant run due to worn shoes.

My Adidas Boston 12 is due for replacement after the next 3 21's and will likely revert to Puma or Nike until Cape Town marathon.

Yeah my feet tells me quickly when its time.

My current pair of New Balance 880s is doing quite well with close to 800km. My worst pair was a pair of Asics Nimbus 23 that tore badly. My pair Hoka Cliftons lasted just over 600KM. They were great but just didnt last long enough.
