I'm glad you see it that way.... What of all innocent people of colour who were detained indefinitely, tortured and murdered upon only suspicion as wells as those murdered for simply protesting?

That too falls within your dictionary definition of terrorism. Your government were terrorists too.
In 1994, to be 18 to vote, you had to be born in 1976. Not all of us are 50 years and up you know. Apartheid and it's government, and all it's architects, are all dead, and have been for a long time now.

no, the dictionary and almost every country that has a law on terrorism see it that way

no it doesn't, governments can do despicable things, wage war, commit warcrimes, commit genocide even, but seeing as they are officially the government they tend to not do those things to topple themselves/bring about political change, which does not fit the terrorism definition

it's basically the same as when a corrupt government collects taxes, sometimes by force, it is not called stealing

curiously you call them: "your government"? who was your government then during those years?

This is exactly what I'm talking about... Trying to sweep it under the rug and then using a tax collection analogy.

And no, the definition does not include "change". It includes political "aim".

I'm not arguing that. I'm arguing that if the ANC and how this started Nelson Mandela were/are labelled terrorists then the Apartheid government were/are too.

WTAF are you on about?!? nobody's sweeping the apartheid government's atrocities under the rug, it simply was not terrorism, call it race based genocide if you want, that's more accurate and certainly not better than being a terrorist in any way shape or form ... unless you think the world views Hitler as a standup guy o_O

it simply was not terrorism, the word means something else

And no, the definition does not include "change". It includes political "aim".
aim would be the same thing, suppressing a part of your population that you've even codified into law is not a political "aim" either, in an apartheid government's mindset it is enforcing the law

I agree. Just saying not all us whiteys supported the NP, voted for them, or were even alive when they were relevant. Some of us really, REALLY hate them, and what they did.

Zille listed the DA’s "preferred posts" across Cabinet clusters.

These are:
  • Mineral Resources and Energy
  • Transport
  • Public Works and Infrastructure
  • Higher Education, Science and Technology
  • Public Service and Administration
  • Justice
  • Home Affairs
  • International Relations and Cooperation
  • Communication and Digital technologies

This whole thing is why I support a single state solution for Israel. It more-or-less worked for South Africa and the Bantustans as separate nations did not.

They're becoming more ridiculous in the first place, because their more reasonable demands were sidelined while the ANC attempted to dilute their influence in order to pander to the 1%ers...

The Apartheid government was not committing genocide, no matter how you stretch definitions.

So I'm not entirely buying the News24 story... how did they get sight of a letter sent from Zille to Mbalula in the first place.

No President will ever give DIRCO to someone who isn't a loyalist. Zille is just trying to drive a hard bargain. She knows this.
